It sucks.  Really bad.  But she did have a couple pounds of weed in her possession in a land that deals harshly with drugs.  What else did we expect them to do :shrug: :frown:

To me I am mixed about this for several reasons.

It's really depressing that no one seemed to care when this happened to 1000s of people in thailand, and that most people only care because she is a pretty young white girl.

However, since people usually only care about injustice when it happens to pretty young white girls, some positive change could come about from this. If it isn't the straw that breaks the camels back, it's close.

Thinking about it though, it's really the best outcome possible. Every indonesian legal expert said she was going down for at least 20. At least she didn't get death or life and activists and legal experts can try to work backwards now. I think it's ridiculous and in my gut I feel it was a set up, but at least she didn't get death and at least her legal team can now work backwards.

However, the trial was a fucking sham, the majority of evidence that could've proved her innocence wasn't allowed to be collected and presented and she had a lawyer that's never been to court before.

I really hope things work out for her, I think they will. But than again I'm a optimist.
