Yup, That's what I have pretty much felt on this if people are going to be imprisoned, be it short term,  to life, possiblity of parole or sentenced to death.

They should be put to work to serve the community they dissed in someway to end up there. It would be good for them to shift their energy flow from one of taking to one of giving. It may be the first time in their lives they will get to experience a sense of accomplishment and doing something constructive and know the rewards of it and what it feels like to selflessly serve others.

Besides, if our tax money is paying to support them and their lives by giving them food, shelter and medical care, along with entertainment and plenty of R&R, its only fair they give something back to the community in exchange for their room and board.

I also think that if someone is going to be committed to prison for life and they would rather be dead, then they should be allowed to off themselves.

But its all this biblical rubbish about an eye for an eye thats been utilized by the government. If God wrote that (which is seriously doubt) then he must love war, violence and revenge.
