I would like to have a contest to promote Folding At Home, something along the lines of who can complete the most work units in a given time period (lets say a month) and give them prizes...

current stats will be documented, and starting a certain date(lets say first of the month) everything from that date, to date B(end of month) will be recorded, and winners will be given prizes.

Of course there will be that one person with access to a billion computers, and will win it all, so i think there should be numerous winners, maybe top 10, prizes decreasing as # increses.

I will be willing to donate some cash, say $50, maybe more depending on how big it turns out to be. I would hope other sponsors would donate some things, and anyone who could chip in, maybe some supporter accounts, etc.

There would also be some issues to work out, but if anyones interested in this, i thnk it would help shoot us up to the top 100. we are 12 spots away.

If you proceed, I think the award should go to the top improvers rather than the top workers. That would take myself and a few others at the top of the list out of the contest. Also, points rather than work units is a much better metric to use.

I have been folding for a while, it's a good cause and I have noticed no real slowing down of my machine's performance.

Hey guys,

Beefy from Beefysworld.com here.  Just thought I'd drop in and say hi and congratulate you guys on the effort you're putting into F@H.  We've been slowly moving up the ladder, and you guys always seem to be right there with us.  Just checked the stats before and it seems like you're set to overtake us in a month or so, based on current submissions, so it could be interesting.  Hope you guys keep it up, and we'll see you in the Top 100 soon.

Beefy.

Not including team Google and the no-team people, we will be ranked #100 in about 11 hours. Congrats guys. Now check out
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_overtake.php?s=&t=12679&p=1

the teams in green are ones we will overtake at our current rate. If you look at the column on the far right it predicts # of days. We should be able to get to the 80s in a month or so but from then on its a slow drive. so we NEED MORE PEOPLE/PROCESSORS. put them computer labs to a good cause ya'll.
