Initial Substrate Moisture
    #3393440 -

Hi, I was wondering if these jars appear to be too moist. This is before pressure cooking. Before mixing the verm, it was ground up a bit in a blender since the original appeared to be too coarse to use. We mixed enough for 14 jars. The ratio of verm/BRF/water was 2/3, 1/4, 1/4 per recipe but ended up having to add a lot of extra water to reach the desired consistency. Here are some photos.

We are going to continue to pressure cook anyways since we spent the time to mix it, but I was just wondering if this would colonize/fruit.

Thanks.

Verm shouldnt be powder..should be like 1-4mm peices. I think thats where you went wrong which caused you to add more water which is the second place you went wrong. Probably wont colonize well or fruit well if it does either or both at all.

Heh, yeah that was my mistake. Somehow I got the idea in my head that the verm was too large (I read somewhere about not using verm that was too course) so we ground it a bit. Apparently "a bit" was "way too fucking much" and it turned out sloppy.

The good news is we remade the entire batch and things are looking much better. Hopefully this is my first and last mistake!

Thanks.
