In the mind.
    #333200 - 06/03/01 04:58 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Anything that you fear is it all in the mind? Anger comes from fear. If it were not for the fears these societies create in your mind, like television horror movies, science fiction films, the bad news in the media about certain drugs, people dying from terrorism bombings, what is there to fear? There is really one fear that you could see, the unknown. By thinking knowledge is the power to live, you live as long as you know it is. If fear is all in the mind, then these things are but a part of your thoughts. Why not change your thoughts to the opposite of fear? Somewhat of creating a no fear reality? Could it be possible?

When something happens that you think you dont want it to happen, isn't it fear? A fear that drives your thoughts to wanting it to cease to exist. If you question then 'why' they get angered, they reason they tell you is just that. A reason that has no meaning behind it at all. Like its somewhat of a fear built up from nothing.

Some responses i get i can't understand at all. Is that because someone doesn't understand my point im trying to get across? It seems when people don't understand one another, they reply from the unknown. How do you respond to something you dont understand?

Peace,
Droz

Indeed a no fear reality is very possible.
Essentially, all fears come from illogical thinking.
What happens when you've survived through everything and anything that there is to fear, what more do you have to fear?
We are fearful because we do not have all the answers. We are told what is right and what is wrong. We see things as good or bad. When we have reached the point where there is no longer a good or a bad, everything just is, then all fears will be washed away.

How can someone live w/out fear.  I beleive fear is what makes us.  Everything fears something, even those who don't fear the obvious still have hidden and more intense fears.  Fear is caused by irrational though, but fear is also a mechanism of self preservation.  Some fears may even be native to our own genetic code, like the prevelance of the fear of heights, fear of snakes, fear of spiders, all dangerous things that without the necessary physical and mental skill could kill you.

I beleive that like love, hate and sadness, fear is an intrical part of what makes us who we are, and we can never completely give way to that.

I think fears come from logical ( but no longer useful ) thinking. Say you fear spiders. This is because our primitive brain tells us that the spider could cause some serious damage, or death. Or a fear of hights. Our brains tells us that a fall could kill or maim us, so being in a high place is dangerous. Are these things illogical? The problem is not that they are illogical. It is that in the modern world, our fears manifest themselves in illogical ways.

For fear of heights and say fear of spiders aren't these both fear of death in a way? You do not want to fall because you do not want to die, or get hurt. Can you feel fear? Or are you just feeling some sort of anxiety of the situation?

You can eliminate illogical fears. If the news reports there is a murderer on the news and they tell you the location he was last seen, and it is near you. Would you fear for your life? You could sit in your house, locking your doors and be afraid of something that you do not even know exists. Or you could forget about it and go on with your life.
Forget fear.

Peace,
Droz

Fear is this, fear is that...

Fear is in your mind, fear is not in your mind.

"I'm afraid that fear is real. "

Are you afraid of pain? Well, can you feel pain and be afraid of it at the same time? Aren't you only afraid of things that can/may/will happen, but never of things that are happening?
Makes you think, doesn't it?

My parents were always afraid of fear. They would say: when you expect to be late, please call us on the phone, so that we know where you are. Then they would say: we are afraid that you will not call.

One fights fear by not fighting fear, and conversely, one does not fight fear by fighting fear. Love your fear. Be your fear. Become your fear. If you try to run away from fear -- you multiply fear, because fear IS an attempt to run away.

How else might I say this?

You make this post because you want to know how to fight fear. Well forget it! You can't fight fear. I am not giving you are a recipe to fight fear, am I am telling you that you may become fear. Once you become fear, you will not want to fight it (yourself?) and you will also realize that you have always been your fear (and all other things) and you will know how futile your attempt to fight fear (and the original post) was.

Clearer now?
