Well you know how things get exaggerated .. Just wanted to give a heads up incase it is needed..  Hopefuly if it does hold merit it is just a fluke or caused from something not mushroom related... .. .. .

had eaten the same type of mushroom, Pleurocybella porrigens, commonly known as "angel's wings," officials from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said.

And my book says "a good edible when fresh and abundant" for Pleurocybella porrigens. I'll just take a marker and draw a little skull and crossbones over it lol.

It could also just be a slight variation not shared with the north american species. Mabie they also picked some of the wrong mushrooms or ate some others that were growing close to the "angels wings".

It may also have nothing at all to do with the mushrooms. I'll check into this and see what I can find out from the official toxicology people here in North America.

Happy mushrooming!
