Big Shroom

Today i bought a 1/4 of dried shrooms.. the bag contained 1 gigantic ass shroom and a little piece of a stem from an obvious mush smaller shroom.. i heard that shrooms grow only to a certain size then just quit making more psilocybin, and only suck up excess nutrients from the substrate.. is this true.. or will that 1 big shroom.. weighing approx 6.6 grams crisp dried get me high 6 or so times?
