>>I`m telling you how much I plan on growing so that you can help me get a good grow and how I should all that
the problem with that is you cant say i want to grow this much then do it, it always varies. Why do you have your mind set in tossing all this stuff in a big tub anyway? Its no where near the way to go about growing!!
and on top of that look at your previous posts.... if you feel lazy and dont want to, look at the bold section in this post. Learn how to take your thoughts and type them out. Most people dont understand this but just because your typing stuff dosnt mean you can forget all english rules, its the same thing as writing a story. But for everyones sake try to clear up your sentence, and at the very least try to make sentences that make sense..... and how I should all that
You approach the turnstiles and know that when you get there you have to give the man two
dollars or he won't let you inside but when you get there everything goes wrong.Edited by windex on 09/07/01 06:55 PM.

I'm not really selling flow hood's or supplies, I had 3 hoods, sold 2, and the rest of my supplies I've been selling was just thinning stuff out to raise the cash to finish things up. My regular business that has nothing to do with mushrooms is fair, I neglect it alot due to various hobbies. Money's not that important to me these days.
Anyways, original poster, yea, just throw a bunch of flower and verm and water and spores in a tub, mix up well with a spoon and this is what you'll get.

let me start this all over alright????
this is what i was planing on doing. I was thinking instead of having all kinds of trays..
I have this old water bed and i was going to take the bed part out and just leave the the wood base and sides so it would be like a HUGE tray.
i would do all the stuff like puting the soil down and everything that you would do then cover it with a big board.
does that sound good or am i better off with just a bunch of trays (meaning the rubermaid ones or something like that)
and I'm sorry for what I said and I never did grow i just THOUGHT that I knew how from the infromation that shroom wizard gave me.
and once again I want to start over and I'm sorry
Thanx!!

DO THE WATERBED THING! cover it over with plastic and have flow hood, ultra sonic humidifier w/peroxide, the works, make sure you separate the wood from the substrate. youll be laying out HEAPS of substrate and youll have a HELL of a time cleaning up, but you MAY have a HUGE amount of success too. of course, if you cut one corner, one little slip up and youve got your body weight or more in toxic moldy goo stinking up your place and making the air in your house poisonous enough to kill you, not to mention a wasted watebed and wasted effort.

NO this is a big contamination mess this is not a good idea get yourself some jars some BRF follow pf tek and go from there the water bed is to big of an area to control.
Start small and work your way up.
I and many others will be glad to assist you in getting started and answering questions Relax learning to do this will convince you on why it is not something you can jump into.
It is easy but you, must follow very strict cleaning and sterilizing rules.

I say do it for sure, growing shrooms is easy. Don't waste your time with cakes and reading and stupid stuff like that. Just go for it, the waterbed sounds cool. Go like 12" deep on the substrate layer, and don't worry about temps, put the cover on and seal it completely. Be sure to take pics

you arent ignorant. youre thinking the obvious. growing HUGE amounts of mushrooms on human bedding material. contam city. however, with alot of work. one could create a farm-type setting, the plastic placed over the bed should be in the form of a tent otherwise it will become heavy with condensation and sag into the substrate. special care must be taken NOT to make the casing too thick. to fight contams you may want to apply the H2O2 directly to the water used in the humidifier. if its a queen-size bed and you are doing well,... best case scenario. hmmm... 5-6 flushes, starting with many small then more sparse but larger fruits. of the entire generation you would aquire a few dried LBS. quite a hell of alot of work tho, you should definately consider straw as a substrate. then lay down peat moss/verm with crushed oyster shell (get in bulk at feed silo) expect a mess. mist it all down with H2O2 then keep humidity at 95-97
OH, heres an idea, LEAVE the waterbed bladder half-filled with the heater beneith and turn the temperature to 31C. it will auto regulate temperature, this way your mycilium is kept all at incubation temp. youll get your flushes FAST! as before, separate the bladder from the substrate with some good strong plastic, you dont want moisture on the heater and bladder.
this could be a wild idea. :) you can also add some small shelves inside the tent and have casings within the enclosure as you would with a terrarium. this is perfectly feesable. but only if your dedicated and careful. i could do it, but it would take alot of work. more than i have time and space for.
