Will Humanity Unmake Its Self?
    #316952 - 05/14/01 03:40 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Do you think that humanity will one day destroy billions of years of life, creation, and evolution ? Or do you think that society will stop taking this world for granted and try to save it?

I beleive humanity will take a turn for the better sometime very soon. However our race needs to acknowledge that making things better starts with themselves, and what needs to stop is the complaining about rainforests and instead focus where someone might be able to make a difference eg. your city or better yet your home.

The media is very elusive because it portrays the world as such a bad place and really in the past 50 years or so steps have been taken to avoid things like a WW3 and invoke peace amongst all. This section of our time line will mark a significant change in how issues are handled in non violent ways.

Not humanity, Society. I think that currently, the Ideals of our society prevent humanity from living to its potential. This includes capitalism. It seems to me that human evolution runs in cycles. We create, we destroy. All of the energy flows around. World war 2, millions of Jewish people were slaughtered. After the war, America creates the Baby boom generation. Crusades--rennisance (sp). But with the current state, some destruction might be more than we can handle.

Nothing of what I say is a personal matter. All cultivation questions are on behalf of counterparts who risk growing. I take no responsibility in being the messenger.

Give me silence, water, hope;
Give me struggle, iron, volcanoes...

I think we're doomed. We're going to systematically contribute to our own self-destruction in an attempt to progessively construct a better world.

Modernity is a time of constructive destruction. Unfortunately it is this construction destroys this planet's ability to renew the resources that we would need to continue this process to infinity.
