Weed started doing the same to me a few years back. Totally out of the blue. I’ve worked in the legal industry for a decade now and just keep cruising with it cause it pays the bills. What’re you gonna do?

I started my recent semp run with 6 tubs, got nice first flushes from them, but have since lost all but 2 to really extreme yeast blooms during their second flush, which I’ve never had on a sub before at all until now.

I recased them with verm straight from the bag, which I’ve never used as a casing before. I doubt that’s the cause, but it’s got me raising an eyebrow.

I get a little extreme with sub and casing pasteurization. I do 8 hour runs using sous vide at 150F. Mine has a timer and I find the hum of it very
soothing  I stopped having a lot of issues after doing this. But it's probably a bit much for most folks.

Smoking weed:...
Me:
:thataintright:

I am such a lightweight with smoke. Turns me absolutely retarded.

I am doing my best to become a pothead guys. But I have to stick with
edibles. They hit me different. I will eat 20-30mg of these sativa edibles
I get from the shop down the street and then lie down with some tunes and
travel to other places. Love edibles.

Anyways, I thought Sweden was supposed to be the pinnacle of Western Democracy? If there were
piles of dead bodies in the streets due to shrooms then yeah I could see there being laws...
but all we have are thousands of stories about how mushrooms changed peoples lives for the better.

@Asura: I'm definitely no light weight because I've smoked a shit load every day since I was 19 so my tolerance is just through the roof:crazyeyes: BUT as you see, this shit also turns my brain into a molten puddle:dumbblonde:

Honestly I prefer edibles but I'm just far too lazy to make any:awesome: I used to make cannabutter but nowadays I just smoke it because it's easier, I don't have any place to get premade edibles which sucks.

Wait... You "go to other places" on weed? I've heard of people tripping on weed but never experienced it myself which is a big bummer:lol:

And nah man Sweden is falling, it's not the country it used to be. We used to be progressive but now it's a different story and they're trying to fight "organised crime" but when they make things illegal they just help organised crime because now they can also sell spores for insane prices. I've been offered $300 for a print which is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously I told him to stfu and gave him 2 extra prints for free instead. A funny thing is that there wouldn't be any black market to run if things like weed and coke were legal but now they make insane money from things which could be cheap AF.

They don't care about actually making a difference, they care about putting money in their own pocket by increasing the amount of fines which come in. Less fines - less money for the government:shrug:

Mushrooms pulled me out of over a decade of depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies and it helped me battle my extreme addiction problems with opioids, benzos, alcohol and more, it helps incredibly much for my gf to battle her CPTSD, ADHD, GAD and more and we're obviously not the only ones who have experienced this but here we are... Paranoid over being caught for trying to fix our mental health:mad2:

Mushrooms have helped me, too. I didn't even have to quit drinking - after a trip one night, I just didn't want to anymore. They have completely
turned things around for me. So that's why I don't care what laws are made around it. The people making those laws aren't doing it for the
benefit of the people that's for damn sure.

Mushrooms are not legal where I am exactly, but licensed practitioners can use them legally and you can apply for a permit to grow for these people. But it's strict. Only cubensis because it has the most studies. And the only people that can comply with all the regulations are the the people
who have facilities for growing weed.

If you want to grow weed for yourself here, there is like a limit of 12 plants and only 6 can be flowering at once...which seems pretty generous
for personal use.

And yeah, edibles for me is like a low grade trip. With eyes closed, the mind opens up, time stands still and I can just get carried off
on a journey.

:chefskiss:

Post the more recent pics here too man! You're doing better and better, remember your first post with those yeast plates?:awesome: this looks way better so get on the transfers bro:rockon: how are those pf Tek Semp jars looking at the moment?

Eh, I dropped the ball this weekend and didn't even really look at them. I get the feeling that all mushies do better when they are not monitored closely, like "a watched pot never boils."

Well that's my theory anyway, and I'm sticking to it.

I'll look in on them tomorrow; planning on transferring the semps to a T1 plate, and I have some blue meanies and rusty whites that need xfers as well.

I like the CS technique or sandwich since these were from spores, and I had invisible contam (yeast) that didn't show up until late stage colonization of grain jars. So I don't wanna take any chances.

Per usual, thanks for the encouragement!

Congrats!

I have your wedge on 8 agar "plates", in all 4 jars it made first a fluffy ball, on all pp5 containers grows only horizontally, funny because its the same agar , could be that jars have thicker agar. For now only 1 of 8 seems contaminated so im happy for now, but i hate condensation water in nopour containers.

i could not make a good pic of the plastic one

Hmm interesting. I used Petri dishes, and the culture mainly grew horizontal, so I guess similar to your PP5 containers. No idea what could cause the difference between the two types of containers.

Nutrient strength of agar can make a difference on how it appears. I find less nutrition seems to make the myc spread out more quickly. I usually use 1% LME 1.5% agar for mine

Yea probably i made it too nutrious. My LME solidified so i tried boiled potatoes and honey agar, should just skip honey probably. But agar is the same in both, only difference is glass jars have a small hole and far more agar.

Dumb question maybe, but could this be a continuation from the 1958 strain? And behind that maybe decades or centuries?

I've heard of sourdough starters going back to the 1860s. It dawns on me that perhaps these creatures are far, far older than time itself, which puts a whole new spin on the hobby...We could be working with literally ancient beings going back beyond memory...

It’s not the same strains because those came to existence after I put the spores to agar, and it ís the same species because it has been proven with DNA sequencing (assuming it is actually a semp/subtrop culture I received and transferred from my Agar plates). I wouldn’t assume my culture is a descendant culture of the culture sequenced by Heim & Cailleux in 1958 or Guzmán in 1995, but who knows!

Well, this doesn't have anything to do with anything you guys are talking about,
but here's a pic from one of the 8 tubs I have going.

Every single tub so far has been completely different.

Looking so great!

Been seeing some remarkably different morphology from tub to tub as well, and, weirdly, had one tub that was vastly more potent than the others.

I'm starting with 0.5g this weekend for my first go with these.

For those that know, how are these different than cyans? The come up
on cyans has always been terrifying for bc it's so quick and disorienting...but then...wow
