Awesome!! Heres looking forward to success!!

Here’s a couple of pictures of teeny, tiny chlorocystis. First flush from a super clean germ plate. T1 trays a currently colonising. Red milo for grain, Faht’s sub recipe with a little blitzed straw added because i want to use it up. Enough fruit here for me and my partner to enjoy Saturday watching cartoons.

Don't spray them, most pans do not like that. After harvest, you can rehydrate the casing or, when the casing looks like crap, remove it and re-case. You can spread out the harvest, ie let the pins go for a bit longer. I normally just remove everything and then soak the crap out of it.

Nice.  I was never able to get chloros to fruit after a few tries.  I didn’t try a live casing tho.  I think that became a thing for them after I had given up on em.

Generally it's best to harvest everything at once. IMO anyways.

Thanks for you input, I will harvest everything that grew over the ankles and syringe all the casing to give pinheads the second chance.

Thanks man. Both my Chloro runs have been successful but I put it down to beautifully clean swabs. They were just pristine.

I’ve found live casing helps with all the homothalics and any pan that struggles to fruit. I’ve recased and added grass seed to trays that have overIayed to get successful grows before. I know there’s been talk about symbiosis, bacterial support etc but I’m leaning towards just being a huge help in maintaining the correct surface conditions.

I obliterate everything at harvest, all the pins get taken out as well. I scrape all the detritus off under running water which also helps to rehydrate. Then I’ll recase the tray before fruiting again. I think it was Tree Frog who described their process and I copied.

Okay,

@ Baba
@ Faht
@ Puff
@ Kloakk

Here is what I got with those clones these pictures are specifically

Clone sample > Water Agar
Water Agar > Low Nute Agar

,, so far no cabin,, yet. No trench or trap door. Based on Faht's pictures from when i first took the clones Here I think these are doing pretty good. Faht said to watch out for non-areal myc and so far, all of these plates have areal myc and no thick overlay. Still a little young on the transfer going to let it grow more but thoughts and opinions??

I've had post-CS plates look not as nice as those.

+1 for send it and pick the nicest ones and put a small piece through a CS.

Go get those mushrooms

so these were my WA to Low nute transfers.

I have a few transfers from the water agar straight into cabins, i did agar wedge's island tek too. 2 trenches and a trap door. but those are understandably lot slower than straight transfers.

That's a 2 for 2 on sending it. I Think I'll do that ! including your advice to send 2 of the best through cabins.

They are looking really good. Take a transfer and send the rest.

They look good to me.  I’d still do aerial myc transfers and keep that going.  At best, it’ll clean the cultures more each time you do one and at worst, it’ll maintain the cleanliness you have now.  If you do agar wedge transfers and there’s bacteria on the agar wedge, it’ll just compound the problem with each transfer until it’s eventually an unusable culture, IME anyway.

It’s a numbers game.. if there’s biofilm on the agar wedge, it’s an established colony and very quickly will migrate to the new transfer plate.  Aerial myc transfers may have free floating bacteria on it but the amount of mycelium out numbers those free floating Bacteria.  The myc will establish itself on the new transfer plate first (depending on the aggressiveness of the bacteria) and outrun the bacteria.  If you keep doing this multiple times, the aerial myc should have less and less free floating bacteria on it as it gets further and further away from newly established bacterial colonies on the new plates

Not saying don’t send those plates, just that you should take an aerial transfer from the leading edge before you send them to keep cleaning the culture up

It’s all about numbers with pan.. gotta do a shit load of clones and then a shit load of transfers.  Eventually, you’ll get to a point where you either say, “this looks really good” and send it or you’ll say, “I’ve done 5 aerial transfers and this is as good as this culture is going to get” and you send it.  There’s only one way to test a culture and that’s to grow it out.  Ideally, you’ll want to keep track of each culture and what happens when you send it.  That way, you can either confirm it’s cleanliness or know there’s more work to do.

Keeping your old early transfer plates around is a good idea too.. a fully grown Out plate will tell you more about the state that plate is actually in as far as how clean it was.  You want to watch out for leading edges that crash out or discoloration under the myc.  Early on, a plate may not show discoloration but as the plate grows out, the biofilm builds and that discoloration is more pronounced.  So keep your old plates around for a while and check on them as they grow out.  It all helps inform how you should move forward with the culture.
