anyone has any cool/dumb/wonky ideas on how to send some grain?

I have some grain more than ready to send but don´t want any more tubs for a bit. Its about 1.8kg of colonized grain that I have and want to use in some creative way. Don´t give a fuck it if fails, its just for the meme.

A week ago I sent this miniature tub and its knotting up now. I find it cute and im curious to see if it throws some miniature fruits :grin:

I have this B+ spores which I can't seem to clean up - grows end up triching out. This is the back of a T5 plate. Made a T6, but it also has these lines. Am I presuming correctly that these lines are a sign of contam? The front looks nice though.

Concentric rings are typically from temp swings.

If youre concerned about the culture give it a warm pour.

At what point are you seeing mold? In the jar or post spawn?

Trich comes after the sub has been colonized. It either kinda marshmallows the surface or it's patchy, with thick and not so thick myc and the tick parts become green below the myc, kinda weird looking tbh ... Weird part is that spawn looked good.

Temp fluctuations? I can't imagine how, it's in a closet and all other plates, except one who also has issues, don't have these circles.

Hey, I have a somewhat strange question, maybe...

How much of the print's surface is actually enough to scrape for a 10ml syringe?

Sometimes I scrape 0.5cm² for 50-70ml, and other times I do it for ~15ml... but I get the feeling that you don't really need to waste so many spores.

Does anyone know anything about this?

You are not wasting them. They have a fairly short lifespan as far as viability goes. Most of them are no longer viable after a couple years.

You can get to point B with minimal spores, but using more spores you are ensuring that the healthiest cultures have the chance to thrive.

A tiny bit will work, but a bigger amount will give you better wiggle room genetically.

Long story short, you are not wasting anything by using a lot. You are giving them a chance.

That wall is amazing!!! But more than I could handle haha 😂 I’m struggling with my small projects.


This is my second (but first in 18 years) pf tek. I am using an EZ dial for fruiting chamber. I had some holes taped up but it was def not enough FAE. So I only have a small mp strip over the holes, lid is on but lets a good amount of FAE. I can dial that in, but do you ever mist the cakes in fruiting chamber like this? I feel like coir is easier for me to see the surface conditions. It doesn’t look dry, but there are no droplets on the cake? The perlite has helped keep up the humidity a ton compared to shoeboxes with coir.
Is this looking alright? Any advice?
Top right had that growth in like 3 days and that is when I opened up way more FAE.

I only did a few testers with it. Jars of sterilized hwfp

Will a warm pour clean it up or do i need to take more drastic measures?

Is it trich for sure? Warm pour and/or cabin is what I would do.
