Woohoo finally got my first successful pans grow! Had a lot of issues in my dreamer tub at first with severe drying of the surface but then I made some drastic changes to the fans with a timer and managed to salvage it. My dreamers seemed to keep like 98% rh by themselves with 2 big trays in there.

I used 1 qt of millet spawn per tray with 2 qt coir and 1 qt composted sheep manure

Got a couple trays of TTBVI. Took some pics every 24h

Tray 1:

Last pics before I harvested today. The 2nd Tray had a lot of overlay for unknown reason but it did pretty good regardless. Could it be too thick casing?

Im happy that they look healthy. Im drying them now at 135f. I wonder how much dry weight this will yield.

What can be changed for future grows to try to get bigger mushrooms? More spawn or more manure etc.?

Very nice.  What did you end up going with for your fan times?

Pans are just small but especially ttbvi.  You can clone a nice big one and hope it grows out around that size.  You can also try lowering your ratio but the pin set can be reduced.  They’re gonna give ya what they’re capable of giving you.. if there’s a lot of them, they’ll be smaller.. if they’re bigger, they’ll probably be less of them.  Personally, I’d have let them go longer.  There’s a lot of immature fruits in that “before harvest” pic but I also mostly grow for the pic.  You’ll have more spore dump from the early birds but you can also just cut the caps off those or pick em.

My dreamers are huge 105 qt so they got two fans on them. I ended with on 2 minutes off 15 minutes and it seems like they had enough air.
Perhaps I could go 3 minutes next grow and see.

Yea i guess i could have let them go a bit longer but I didnt want a big black spore mess everywhere. I was gonna cut the more mature ones but got lazy and said fuck it and just harvested them all

Believe it or not, first time I saw it I was tripping and it is now my all time favorite movie :awesomenod:

Have you seen this scene that was cut?

Whoah!  No, I hadn’t seen that.  That’s some awesome symbolism / imagery.

That movie is definitely in my top 5

I thought I was the only one who loved that movie… you guys should check out the soundtrack too… Clint Mansell did the whole thing.  To be honest, I kinda hid that I liked that movie because I was a little embarrassed, it being a love movie n all :uhoh:

Btw I also had my first TTBVI harvests a couple weeks ago in two JCM’s:

This one kinda looks like a scene from The Fountain!

Embarrassed?

:begone:

I'm a grown ass man and I cry every time I see it :cryariver:

In my opinion it's a movie about life and in life there is should be some love if you ask me.

Nice fruits as well

after the first flush of my komodo grow, I had low expectations for the second flush. But I tossed the tray in the dreamer anyway and pretty much ignored it for the last 3 days. Meanwhile, last night I did a small test drive - just .35gm to get a feel. wow, felt like I'd done half a gram of bvi. this second flush very nearly equals the first

Looks great Blakey

I harvested a couple of komodoXBVI trays myself today. Got some good clusters but not full coverage this time.

First tray

Second tray

340g wet

very impressive, kloakk. never tested komodo before last night, much less the hybrid. course i've done bvi several times...just a little bit too manic or maniacal for me. the komodo seemed as potent but a little less hyper. planning now to devote the rest of the year to india & bisporus, as they are far and away my favorites.

franz kafka wrote that we need books that work to break up the frozen sea inside us. that seems like the perfect description of what pans are doing for me now

Glad to hear it, my komodoXBVI is drying right now, I'll make 20g worth of capsules tomorrow and give the rest to my younger brother, well if he wants it, I keep tossing fruits at him

Bisporus is still my number uno pan as well :awesomenod:

After harvesting a flush what do I do next with my trays to trigger the next flush right? Like do I pour water on the surface or the sides and leave it there for a while. And how much water etc.

Any advice?

When I harvest pans I try to pull big clusters with the casing still attached. I then scrape off the rest of the old casing and apply a new one. I mist the new casing to just before pooling and that's it, back in the dreamer she goes.
