How'd those seeds work out? Have I asked you that already?

I believe they worked great! Three people from here sent me seeds and I fumbled and mixed them all up. I haven't had any problems with any of them though. Thank you!

I'm wondering what the cheapest, safest way to send seeds would be...?  Possibly just vac sealed in a standard envelope?

All mine came in ziplocks in envelopes I think... someone, I don't know if they want to be named, did something different like medical tape. I sent some out in a foil envelope in a birthday card envelope.

I did a giveaway here last year, everyone I sent them to got them. I think it was 25 people, some of them were out of country.

All were around 1000 seeds (about 1/5 a gram, maybe a little less), in a normal plastic "dime bag", between 2 pieces of paper folded in thirds, in a normal envelope, looking like a business letter. Just 1 stamp in country.

I've gotten larger amounts, like a quarter ounce to a half ounce, in a bag, between a few sheets of paper, in a small padded envelope.

I send them in #3 paper coin envelopes sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard to protect them and keep them from rattling, all in a standard letter sized envelope. Canada Post returned one that they’d opened because it rattled. They said it had to be send via declared customs because it was a package and not a letter.
Same size envelope, same contents, same weight. The customs declaration cost $10.

Thinking about doing a giveaway in a month or so, there's several lifetimes worth of seeds.  I just need to grab 'craft' bags from W*M.

I'd be interested in sharing some of my seeds and trying out some others.

This season would be mostly purple poms and white clouds.  A few Danish flags, grapes, and possibly 2 or 3 other oddballs.  While I was pruning I selected heavily for the most aggressive plants and those were the clouds I'm pretty sure.  If I still have last year's seeds I would select away from the clouds just to get a better variety.

The lone 'pink cloud' is still going strong, I think it's up to 11 pods and the color is becoming a slightly darker pink.  Those seeds will be special reserve.

Does your Pink Cloud look similar to these?

Some other pinks.

What do you think of Danish Flags and Grapes? I grew them but mixed them in with other varieties in the harvest.

You ever grow Queens? They're good. Pink and lovely too.

I was impressed with the size of the Danish Flags this year and I thought the grapes were good potency wise from what I remember from last year.  No Queens yet.  I've been mixing my seeds together for a few years now and just came across a couple packs that I don't even remember growing lolzzz.

Here's what the pink clouds looked like this morning, lower left is likely a different plant.

I see similarities between both of our pictures in the unique way that they unfurl from the capsule.  Very tightly wound petals, almost open sideways.

Let's write up
HOW TO GROW POPPIES
HOW TO GROW POPPIES
HOW TO GROW POPPIES

I wrote up a tutorial I'm going to link with my next seed giveaway.

If anyone wants to check it out, and add to it, I'll add any that need to be there, and if I don't add it, it will still be literally "on the same page" haha

Post one of your photos with your reply on that page, if you will.

I'm trying to keep it short. If you have a longer more complete tek, post the link on that page, and if you have any links to what to do AFTER growing then, or any things like that, post them there please.

Wrapping up this season.  The humidity is high now and I've been picking well before dry stage.  There was a few almost dry pods and after the rain they got orange speckles and green fuzz.  It seems that the late grapes were the most susceptible.

So now anything with an open crown, a little give with a squeeze or a light browning discoloration gets chopped and dehydrated.

Still waiting on the pink cloud to finish.  I looked it up and I'm pretty sure that it's called a Peony Poppy.  I need to start writing things down lolzzz.  It's just a weird coincidence that I only had one and also that it outperformed all of the rest.

Here's the biggest poppy "tree" that I've seen, a few of those pods were like golf balls.
