Thx for the informative thread and video Wiccan . It showed me the method im using here in the Caribbean, although it had to be tweaked a little, because with close to 100% humidity every day its almost impossible not to get a little fungus on the pots.
To break the dormancy in the hot/humid climate, I used cold water to expand the pots and also the first watering. Got good germ rates with that. Also mist once a day, but only water about once a week. That way they dont get to much of the white spider silk fungus.
Another important note: I hate fire ants, but they love the seeds. While i was germing some seeds on the peat pots i threw some outside hoping to just use the pots to fill in gaps. However 3 days later the seeds started moving of the backyard in neat little lines.
To sum up, fungus grows easily on peat pots in a high humidity environment and fire ants your seeds.

I'm looking to grow a few plants outdoors, I'm worried, I want them to flourish as much as possible, I don't know what size pots I should use, these roots can explode in growth rapidly, even before bolting/flowering. I'm going to be feeding them organic nutrient extracts, I just don't know how big of pots/totes/bins I should use... any suggestions?

With pot I can use a 15 gallon pot plant and grow a 9x9 foot plant and produce a lot. Only imagine how good poppies can do.

I think ants and birds would pose a more consistent and numerous issue, though it may be worth a try. or you'd throw small firecrackers embedded in bags full of seeds to achieve a full radius dispersion, providing that the explosion is padded and doesn't burn/crack your seeds.

Hello all this is what I got as of now. The strain is Tasmanian Purple. And there's about 60 plants. Think they'll make it. This is my first time.
