thank you! :hatsoff: it's taken some doing.  I wanted to make brf cakes but my brain checked out, so it's just birdseed in the jars. Dont ask. That was the main mistake. They almost fell apart on birthing, so perhaps underhydrated too. hard to dunk and roll, not heavily coated in verm. So I also wondered if the birthed cakes might dry out if they were undercoated with verm. How do you do your cakes? brf cakes, rolled in coir in yogurt containers? slightly bigger cakes?

but yeah, I got fruits! trying for a couple years :awedance:

but tell me what's happening here... I fucked up and made plain grain cakes, wedge inocculated  when I tried to birth them they nearly crumbled. I knew I fucked up but rolled in verm and hoped for best. some wouldn't birth and or looked bacterial. thought they were lost but put a verm layer on anyway.  lo and behold,  the baccy ones in jars fruited, the birthed cakes have not.

what's going on?

anyway some progress,  some fruits. the future looks bright! onward!

Is the left side in a corner against the wall or something like that?? Looks like something is going on that’s making the conditions better on the right side.

Looks like some good fruits though definitely enough to try them out.

Mist those jars and fruits whenever you pass by the tub, looking at 3 weeks to a month until they mature, fucking amazing they finally popped for you brother

And I think your reasoning is correct, the grain cakes you birthed is dry and probably won't fruit unless you put them in a container and cover with coir or something 👀

I mist everyday pretty much unless I forget. These subtrops are water hogs. Doesn't really seem like you can overdo it, they love being wet

Have you considered trying a shoebox? I've had great success. As long as I can get a good grain jar colonized then I've got 100% success rate after that. I could share my method if you'd like to hear it

I'm confused, are you making gummies with just colonized grain? I know mycelium is active but why wouldn't you just use fruits?

For me they look ready, at least I would pick them at that stage. But I guess you could get them darker yet still. I'm definitely no trusted cultivator but I think I've got a good handle on the semps lol. But yeah for me I'd probably be harvesting now. They look good though!

I like them dark chocolate and dropping spores. Semps aren’t mushrooms that look fine one day and turn to slime the next morning.
