Take a cap or two and test them, give them a good mist before cutting them off, put a shot glass or something over the caps to keep them humid and let them drop for 24-48 hours.

Anybody got a print or two they could share? Been a year since I've grown the semps, my last few prints I took all failed me, the most recent was too old I'm thinking cause I have zero growth of any kind on my agar after a few weeks. Can anyone help a brotha out?

The bottom two pictures might be ready for prints. The caps gotta be real dark first in my experience, like black damn near. The top two I can almost guarantee won't drop any spores for awhile yet

Happy to help, oh, if printing doesn't work, you might be able to swab the caps, just don't use swabs to check if they're dropping spores, don't ask me how I know :muppet:

What could be the cause of these funny looking Subtrops? There are some contamination, any clue what it is?

I have two tubs with the same genetics, both have these strange growing shrooms.

I believe it is verticillium as seen in this post. The_chosen_one has diagnosed it several times in this thread.

First round of Subtrops, though I was smart, swabbed a couple of caps right off the substrate, got spores from every cap, harvested 10 to print, 48 hours later, not a single print

Interesting, it could be that I guess. I have to do some research about verticillium.

I think you are comparing apples to bananas.

I'm not sold on vert at all, nor virus. Also I think those one's in rotveltas tub are experiencing something totally different that what is going on in the linked post and is's likely just phenotypic expression. I've seen multiple species of P. genus mushrooms present with similar traits.

Like these cubes for example:

These Semps can do some weird stuff. Like this for example which is not vert:

Verticulum Is visible under the microscope. It will make spore in cultures invitro and almost always presents with a metabolic battle where the P. mycelium pees the bed.

Yes. To be clear I suspect these things. My Coyopolan culture looks totally clear of vert under a scope. And it's consistent through several grows with different subs and casings. Vert is also typically picked up later in a grow for me and that has been confirmed with a scope numerous times. It's especially visible while it sporulating like several molds. Thus I suspect viral damage.. but this would have to be proven by other methods. I'm still leaning in that direction but it could also be phenotypical. I just have my doubts in many cases. It's only a matter of opinion until proven otherwise. I try to word my diagnosis carefully to cover my ass but sometimes things are misinterpreted.

Point being.. don't parrot me.. or anyone for that matter. :crankey:

Ya gotta put in the research and arrive at your own opinionated conclusion.

This reminds me gotta check boobs. :naughty:

 I didn't even look who said what. Not even beyond two posts up actually. Still need to catch up.
Just woke up from a nap. Didn't want to start a "but two TCs are saying two different things" thing mostly. Somehow woke up working reaction lol.
Anyways, no bad done.

So the boob colony is one year twenty four days old. Apparently putting out another flush which I lost count of a long time ago.
Antioquiensis started fruiting so I'm going to just let boobs be boobs and distract myself with that and a few other projects lol.
