Giving up?

:begone:

That's not really an option now is it :crankey:
I get it though, banging your head against a brick wall is so discouraging and the timelines in this hobby is not for the faint hearted.

My guess is that you can turn this around, but I agree it will cost both money and time if you want to give yourself the best chance of success. Hit me with a :pm: if you need anything including genetics Puff

I haven't had the chance to connect with you on the forum before, but don't let yourself be carried away by impulse.

Thanks for the support guys. I'm sorry for crashing out.

Very likely every surface of my grow is infected with an airborne bacteria that can go through SFDs and aged PP5. Which means all of my lids and agar cups are a contamination vector. My entire room is a vector.

All the agar work in the world is meaningless if the contaminant can just waltz through your defenses.

I'm in a daunting position.

Pseudomonas is something every grower will need to deal with to some extent. Resuable agar dishes is a thing that has come up recently and it makes sense to go over to glass or disposable plates as some biofilm can be very resilient even at 121°C, but they ain't surviving radiation :dead:

Being airborne a FFU or a flow hood makes sense and will most likely help to some degree as well. The industrial mushroom farmers deal with this on a daily basis and still managed to keep it at an acceptable level, I'm sure our small scale growing is even easier to keep clean enough.

Again, I understand the frustration and at some point one have to make a choice if all this money, time and struggle is really worth it and I will respect whatever decisions you make, but I am wondering if Nichrome's post might have sounded like you're totally fucked, but what I read was an answer to what could be the reason your grows are failing even though there isn't any visual cues on plates or grains.

He also said every grower deals with this to some extent, dude we're talking about a guy that surrounds himself with molds and still grows mushrooms successfully. You may have to deal with this problem more then the average grower, but I refuse to believe it is futile

I was looking at my tub, quite in vain, had to pick it up to get a closer look...

And I dropped it. Pins, destroyed. Substrate, broken into pieces. What's the saying?

LEAVE
IT
THE
FUCK
ALONE

I put it back together like a puzzle and removed all pins. Let's see what happens in a week or 2!

Lmfao.... Hiding bush u might not believe this though I yeeted a few tubs myself half a year ago

Right after 2 weeks of letting grains fully colonize I spawned to a tub x4 lol and I ended up yeeting all 4 tubs trying to move them when they where in a perfectly fine spot on a shelf already 💀 the one on the top got the worst of it somehow lol it was cooked.

The other 3 gave 2 flushes at least :mad2:

Is that true? Most SFDs are 0.22 micron and while edge failures etc are possible (but a different thing), the smallest psuedomona size I've read so far is 0.5 micron

I've got a cleanish space, it's a tad warm in the summer but it's aight. If you have 2 working human arms, we might be able to accidentally grow something!

That looks identical to mine with the exception that mine is generic. You should pick up some magnets and clear plastic panels for nonporous walls to contain the sterile field
