So i m at a loss with this tub.
1st flush pins did not do )uch, same for this second flush (pins are like that since 7 days~).

It s smelling something. Not a "it smells bad asf" but neither a "hummmm fresh mushrooms".

I guess a contam? Toss? Wait?

You used to be able to get 21 bricks of ecoearth for less than 40 bucks if you signed up for autoship on petco/petsmart/chewy. You can still get a deal but prices are higher now.

I wanted to start my journey into agar but didn't realize this wasn't a powder, does this matter? I have agar agar powder was looking to make the LME recipe (I believe that's what it's called). I could only get 5 petri dishes so the recipe I have is 2.5 grams malt extract, 2.5 grams agar agar powder, 125 milliliter distilled water. Does this still work even though it's a liquid version of malt extract?

Depends on your mentality and everyone will have a different opinion. lol.

If my first flush sucks and shit starts looking funky I have usually enough shit or other things going to where I fuck the tub right off and start back from spores/clone. But I am a “hate failures” “get back on the horse” kinda guy.

If you need/desperately want some shit, keep going till you get some sort of visual confirmation. Even then some people will have different opinions about different contaims but I hate the thought of fucking yo other shit or wasting time.

absolutely will work but the ratio to water changes obviously and I can't do the math :shrug:

edit also get more petri dishes wtf. you're gonna need them lol

Just use it at the regular ratios, 2% ME 2% agar. As the liquid ME has water in it, you'll end up a bit light but that's better than more.

Make up more than you need, it's cheap, just dump what you don't use. I like to pour extra in a glass and see how long it takes (and at what temp) to gel.

I've never used LC as inoculate and I wanna give it a try this time around, Ive made LC's before just for the heck of it, however I've always found it hard to aspirate the stuff into syringes and ive been using the widest (available to me) syringes they're 1.2mm and Ive tried aspirating undisturbed blobs, ive tried sucking up broth that's been colonizing on home made magnetic stirrers and the culture seemed to be as fragmented as you'd expect but still the 1.2mm syringes were fighting for their lives and calling for backup so this doesnt work it seems (for me at least)


so my question is, is/has anyone here been using LC with syringes succesfully consistently? Im aware about pouring LC's but im specifically interested in injecting (for now) id like to hear some success stories, links, teks, whatever, I feel the need to get motivated somehow, is what im asking, if thats even a question. Who Injects grain with LC around here? How they do it? :shrug:

I use a smaller number needle gauge like 16 for example. 

And I use 32 gauge for josex pokes

I've only just started using agar, so the entirety of my grows over the past year have been via LC. Hell, I've got a picture somewhere on here of 20 jars colonizing concurrently that were all done with lc that I multiplied 300 fold.
It has worked for me as far as I can tell, but with my inexperience, who the fuck knows?

As for why your syringe won't suck up the mycelium in your lcs: try a smaller diameter needle. Pressure is inversely related to the area over which a force is applied (P = f/A). Therefore, for a constant force, a smaller diameter tube will create greater pressure compared to a larger diameter tube.

What kind of syringes do you use? Can you expand on your LC inoculation method?

And im not doubting the pressure mc square math im just wondering how to get around the issue of clogging, do you guys focus of rendering the myc into smaller pieces or do yall focus on switching needles for some other type of wider tubes? Whats the recipe here? I've tried 18G (which is 1.2mm) many times and it always clogs. So Im wondering how growers are injecting their LC's :typing:

So it rarely clogs when you use a smaller syringe, because the suction force tears the mycelium into pieces that fit as it is sucked into the needle
Edit: if it does clog, just reverse flow and try again

Dude I've just been reusing the ones my LCs came in. I only learned that I could pc them without fear of melting them maybe 2 weeks ago?

okej but could you be more specific please, what kind of needles do you use for aspiring  LC's into the syringes?

When you pull the plunger back, do you find that less air gets pulled in with wider needles or?
