Another quick question, double dosage?
    #1150868 - 12/18/02 07:11 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

I was reading over my cubensis growing guide again and I noticed as part of the guidline your supposed to have 1/2 pint sized jars... i noticed I grab full pint jars. Can i just double the reccomended amount of everything and will it work? or should i try and ditch these jars and get 1/2 pint size? Sorry for all these stupid little questions but i want these to grow perfect... over the years i've realizzed reading the manual and going step by step exactly pays off more then bootlegging things.

You can do that just times the ingredients by 2. You might wanna use atleast 4ccs per jar with the pint size.

Always going step-by-step & following of exact rules is not necessarily the best way.  See what works for you.  I don't think that working with half-pint jars in the most efficient way.  For average casings which everybody is making quart jars are the best, unless of course you want to spend 8-10 half-pint jars on average for a good casing. My roach  usually uses 2 quart jars per casing.  It might be little too much but it works for him.  Also, I  don't think that you would have exact ratios of ingredients if you go 2x 8x 16x  the size; dynamics would be little different, but close.  Water ration would vary the most(i think).  MMGG is for knewbs to see how everything works(& experiment a bit), impling the easiness of the tek.  However, I think MMGG  is more difficult than working with millet, because their is more variables to consider when working with MMGG.  With millet you spend less time measuring ratios, and consentrate on one variable which is water.  Once you get that right, it's like hot knife going through butter.  Also, injecting 3 cc's  work fine.  Colonization should be pretty fast too, since millet could be shaken up.  My roache's vote goes to quart jars with millet in 'em.  :smirk:

Just mix up your BRF substrate in bulk and fill the jars. If you run out of substrate, mix up more. It's easy and fun. Keep in mind that if your jars have a shoulder, you may not be able to get the cakes out without taking drastic measures.

Peace
