Why is farting funny?

Seriously, were there just a buncha cave people sitting around a fire farting and laughing at some point in the history of human evolution? Or has it become funny with the build of societys with morals and norms?

I mean, farting is a completely natural thing, and hey.... it makes you feel better if your stomach kinda hurts. But still if somebody farts and it sounds funny I, and im sure others, laugh at it.

Isn't it great that when you finally get comfortable with a woman that you can fart in front of her? After holding it back for the courtship you can finally let loose. It never ceases to amaze me how funny it is when she gets repulsed. Why is farting funny? I don't know, but it sure makes me laugh.

Still seems theres some kinda weird instinctual based acceptance of it being funny. It can be worked with like everything, but it just doesn't make sense to me at all.

i don't find them that funny. I think maybe people just laugh because it's akward, and that's just a reaction to akwardness. that and clammy hands

I don't know. My husband farts a lot and we both end up laughing all the time. In fact, I'm laughing right now thinking about it....

Good question. Funky, how can you not think they're funny? Maybe you are just way more mature than us.

I must admit, I do have quite the juvenile sense of humor. I like really stupid things like the movie Dumb and Dumber and Old School and Austin Powers.......

dumb and dumber and old school are great movies! the austin powers are good but are going downhill in my opinion.

whoo dosnt like those movies? well who ever it is that likes to sensor things dont. But the only sence of humur I got is juvenile I lack the more adult sence of humor.
