Nice pins :mjdance: is that the 'standard' HVC semp or some wilder specimens?

Cased my shoebox yesterday with 40% coir 20% verm and 40% blackstone pon. I had the pon lying around from my herb grows so im trying it out

And this is the surface of my shoebox a day before casing

and spawned a second shoebox, the same way as the previous but this time actually doing the 1:3 ratio and not brainfarting
Both shoeboxes are from different germ plates as well.

Regular old 'HVC'. I am switching to smaller tubs / just cakes and cased grains with everything. What with all the mushrooms I don't want lying around the house... But just wanted to do one more shoebox. So there she goes

I'm still struggling with subtrops, but not giving up.  Got some different genetics coming down the pipeline and like 3AM going to try fruiting in colder room of house.  I've been running them in the same room with pans where the temp is 78-80f and have only had a few trays successfully pin.  Hoping lower temps will do the trick.  Will keep posted.

My trip experience from 1.6 dried grams was underwhelming.  Nothing like the 20g fresh trip, but the fruits I've gotten have not been particularly healthy and the myelinated grain was just about bunk (0.1% actives on millet and popcorn) which is way less than I previously got. Got some wheat jars going and will test them in coming months.

Having said all that, I'm going to keep cracking at it until I get some of these "live forever" mushrooms to fruit on my continued quest...

Till then, TTBVI and pan cambos which are easy for me to grow have been very rewarding..

I may not have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, but I have taken 20 grams of fresh subtropicalis

Why won't you open the box to peak? I always do so because I'm way too eager:lol: it hasn't done any harm as far as I can see, in fact skipping the choking stage and just jumping right into fruiting has worked better for me than choking ever did. I can't say that this is definitely true but ime it's excessive and skipping it has worked really well.

Well, I do too :hehehe: just trying to practice LIFTA as much as I can when its needed. I find monitoring the surface once a day to be very helpful though. This first shoebox was also a 1:2 spawn/sub ratio (my mistake ) so im just trying to limit ways for moisture loss. Not sure if it matters though

Ah alright then I got you wrong:lol: I thought you're choking the sub for colonisation... If you want to avoid opening it then maybe dubtub them so that you can see what's going in there without having to open them?

HVC from 6 month old spawn. Some of these fruits are looking pretty old school. Got another from 7 month almost ready to case. It was spawned at the same time as the 6 month in the same substrate.

Those look very nice, are these a clone that looked more like the 'modern' HVC when not consolidated so long?
On the other hand, have your semp myc become very dense white growth, which looks a lot like knots? Could these be actual knots or just semp myc being semp myc? Photos taken around a week from casing and two weeks from spawn. Not PH adjusted casing, so it colonizes it a bit.

I also get these on the side of my tub and it looks almost like chia pudding

Edit:
A photo of my second shoebox getting ready for casing

Yeah the side does look a little like trich. But the mycelium can do all kinds of weird shit. Especially under long consolidation be it on grain or substrate.
Here's the 6 month doing something similar.

You'll have to ride it out to be sure. On the bright side even if it is trich, subtropicalis is one of the most defiant mushrooms against mold. Sometimes it will just encase it and grow right around. I've grown several over the years with mold spots and still got a full life span.

The 6 month above came to me on grains from Yoshitrainer. Who got it from Hindsight. Who got it from Captain Future. Who got it from me. So full circle. I've been working with LC pulled from the G2A.. or maybe a T1 of, but I think when I get off my ass and harvest those I'm going to take it back to MS.

That tub was consolidated for two weeks before spawning, but I have seen that thicker white mycelium on the sides for maybe 1.5 - 2 weeks now, so if it was trich I would expect it to start going green? The lighting in the photo doesnt do it justice, IRL it is very white, think chalk.

Anyway, the truth will present itself in due time, i'll post an update when i see what happens  Thanks for the input

Kloakk you bastard you absolutely bamboozled me when you told me you had a light experience with semps:lol: or well ofc you didn't bamboozle me but you definitely made me think they'd be pretty easy but holy mother of jesus... Last night was definitely not a light experience, I did 0.5+0.5+0.8 and the last dose hit me like a fucking brick:crazyeyes: I can't believe the effect.

At this dose I experienced the most intense and the absolutely coolest and most changing visuals I've ever had, no body load and all I could think was "wow... Fuck... WOW..."
:whatthefuck:
There was so much going on, so many visuals, such a high euphoria and the effect was still slightly present when I went to bed at 10pm, I took the last dose at 3pm:lol: the effect wasn't the same all the time but kept evolving, changing constantly. I kept warping into different universes I've never been to before and it was astonishing. Just wow.

I fell in love with these beautiful creatures last night, they're the most magic mushrooms I've ever had. I don't think I enjoyed popping my real cherry as much as popping my semp cherry:naughty:

Thank you so much for the spores Kloakk. If anyone wants prints I've got quite a few waiting to be claimed!:leocheers:
