You’re good bro! How long those been going in the jar?

About four months since inoc, probably going to harvest them in the next few weeks.

It's a culture from a BRF puck jar stone I cloned on agar, this jar looks like it has roughly twice as many stones as my multispore one did.

Yeah, you’re good to go. You’ll have some nice stones in there. Are you gonna spawn that bulk after you remove the stones to get fruit and more stones?

I may put a cased tray of the myceliated grain in my water tub, to see if tampanensis will still fruit at about 60F / 15C, but I suspect it's too cold. I was able to get some fruits in a shoebox last summer (picture) though, and even a couple prints. I'll definitely try more when it's warmer.

Spawn it to straight coir. Let them colonize for a month or a a little longer. Then case them with a thin layer of pasteurized 50/50 mix of jiffy mix and calcium sand that is FC. Then move them to a water tub or JCM after you case it.

Same cake of ATL7, different flushes.
One with FAE 8/hour, another one in cubensis mono. Interesting, that same light and water spraying parameters dont matter on caps development.

Hi

I'm growing sclerotia for the first time. I have basic experience with growing cubes and woodlovers.

I injected LC into Popcorn and rye berries. I prepared it the standard way, over night soaking and more then 90min in the pressure cooker.Maybe the corn was a little dry.

I used fresh bought LC. "Utopia", "Atlantis", "Pajaritos"

I kept it at 20 degree Celsius (68 Fahrenheit)

After 3 weeks it looked like this:

Today I checked it again (5 weeks from inoculation) and I found it like this:

(The rye berry bags also look like they are going brown)

The only contaminations I had with cubes was green or black or this white fluffy stuff. I never seen this brown color.
Could it be a problem with not properly hydrated grains that lead to endospores surviving PC?
Or is there a chance that sclerotia producers mycelium looks like that?
I fear that the Liquid Cultures were contaminated.

Also:Are the white blobs pressed at the glass sclerotia?

Thank you for your help

bamspam, yeah, brown is regular color of atl myc. Sometimes. And yeah, that white blobs are sclerotias. Dont worry and continue your grow.

Panaeolus cinctulus after only about a month and a half. The bigger jar is almost a month old but the truffles I got out of a small amount of grain from the bottom was insane.

Sorry in advance; I haven't been studying.

When is the best time to harvest jars of P. tampanensis for sclerotia (other than whenever someone's ready to eat them)?  I inoculated 12 jars on Dec 1, they are fully colonized and well into forming stones.  I figured I'd let them consolidate, or sit fully colonized for at least a month or so to form stones.  They keep getting bigger/more stones... up to a point, right?  Is it good to let these things go for months.  Is there a sweet spot, more or less?  What to look for as time goes by (i'm assuming drying out could come up)

I let mine go for two months before I sent it to substrate. I got 50+g of sclerotia out of two quart jars and then made two shoeboxes to grow more sclerotia and then eventually fruit. Many people say the longer the jars sit the more potent the sclerotia get. However, the longer the sit, I’m not sure about the ability to send the grin to substrate, so one of our other members will have to chime in on that.

I’ve taken eight month old bags full of stones directly to bulk with coir and they work, but not as good as spawn that has recently colonized
I don’t like stones so I don’t think it’s worth it

That’s awesome. I bet those stones were potent AF! I think 2 months on a jar is a fair time. You can get the stones, then spawn the grain, and the grain is still fresh enough to colonize nicely and grow a new harvest of stones.

Substrate was coir, straw, and verm. Casing was 50/50 peat and verm.
Shoe box produced 260g wet (24g dry). I have give away prints in the marketplace for anyone interested.

I usually do my stone harvesting from my jars at spawning. I let them go around 3-4 months and get some boulders. Never had much luck with stone production during the bulk stage as the stones were mostly smallish. I had these early clusters pop up on me and I needed some tea...

I harvested. To my surprise, as I haven't seen this before, at the base, like a tree or bushes root ball, was a stone. Check it out.

Nice pics. I had the same idea, except I am utilizing Panaeolus cinctulus for sclerotia production. My strain just got sequencened, "Panaeolus cinctulus f. subsecotioides".

These seem to be fully colonized within one month-1½ months, if one is going for full colonization as the indicator for being "ready" to send to bulk. Being that this was a grain to grain, I wonder if sclerotia production would be stressed if I did more grain to grain transfers from this jar, rather than sending to bulk.
