Can you have a look at my jars, please?
It's a clone from commercial dutch truffles. ('Valhalla')
The jars were knocked with agar wedges on October, 18th.
My noob eyes do not see any sclerotia forming yet after almost six weeks.
The upper rye berries have not been fully colonized yet.
Temperature is about 71.6 °F / 22 °C to 73.4 °F / 23 °C.
They are kept in a cupboard in the dark.

Six weeks is early still. There are no sclerotia yet.

You'll usually see pigment start to grow before the sclerotia start to form. It will often crawl up the glass too.

ATL7 is slowly becoming my wife and I’s favorite. The body high is awesome with a lot less head load. We lemon tekked 4.5g between us last Saturday night and it was beautiful.

Will wait a few more weeks trying to be patient.
My goal is to get some spores of this species, so i will spawn two jars to bulk and keep the others for sclerotia.

Might get yourself some sclerotia from your substrate too. I've seen some monster spuds in trays.

Good stuff there Wedge. Thank you for that. It's nice to see the pics and everything. Very thorough. I was beginning to have my doubts with my own Tampanensis and I was thinking genetics was afoot and not necessarily environment.

I have Tamps and ATL7 colonizing grain at the moment. If I let them sit and do their thing, I could expect sclerotia sometime down the road, yeah? Can I spawn the remaining grain to bulk when I decide to harvest the stones?

Yes you can, as long as the spawn is clean. Many report larger/more numerous stones once spawned to bulk.

I just threw some Mexicanas, Zaps and atl7 on agar after I got an awesome care package filled with goodies by rumblestrip:rockon: but I just realised I know nothing about stone producers.

What's the most efficient way to grow these? I'm most focused on the Mexicanas and zaps so is it best to wait for stones in the grain jars then spawn the remaining grains to bulk or spawn the jars at full colonisation and harvest both mushrooms and sclerotia at the same time and is there a grain they do better on than others?

Also, how does cultivating these differ from cultivating cubes, pans or semps?

I sent the stones right along with the grain and they grew significantly after letting the tub fruit for about 2mo. I harvest 100g of stones and idek what in fruits. Not a ton of fruits, but these two boxes were poppin my tamp cherry too.

Some update of my 'Valhalla' jars, inoculated on October, 18th.
One jar is producing some yellowish spot below the agar wedge which i think could be the first sclerotia.
I'm worried about that the jars are producing condensation inside. It not everywhere but mostly on one side of each jar. The other sides are dry.
There still are some grain berries on the top which are not fully covered with myc.
Do you think they look healthy?



One jar was shaken about one week ago.
It's recovering very slowly i think...
