Just some ALT#7 agar I thought was interesting. It’s over a year old and it sure wants to grow
Nice thing about it is with stone producers. It can tolerate these conditions for years and still be viable plate.

And a bag of 6 month old stones still growing strong

Hell yeah dude, they look great :mushroom2:

Quick question for you stone farmers out there. Do you shake the colonizing jars if planning to spawn to bulk? I have some Atl 7 jars that I want to shake, but wasn't sure if this is counter productive

I’m jealous of you guys. I’ve got an at7 clone on grain but it’s moving so slow in the colder weather now.

Can’t justify heating the room for a couple jars though.

That answers a question I had bc my atl7 slowed to a crawl in the mid-upper 60s.

QQ: how yall approaching cloning tampanensis fruits? I think I saw to wipe it down with peroxide, take a snip of stipe and hope for the best/ take to water agar if needed? Wanted to verify before taking a shot at it.

I peel them open and then scratch the inside with a needle and then poke it into a plate.

Still get bacteria sometimes but the myc grows past it pretty fast.

Shake only once early in colonization of the jar just to get the jar evenly colonized and see how fast recovery is. Then LITFA for almost a couple months to grow stones. Harvest those when you spawn.

I have a jar I dropped agar to on the 7th. I shook it on the 20th when it was like 1/2 colonized. Today it’s pretty much 100% colonized. I’ll probably spawn it in early to mid January.

Josex poke after a stipe wipe would probably be the move there.

Just make like 6 clones to water agar. Split them down the middle. Use smaller younger mushrooms to avoid the baccy even more.

Ooops, I just realized I had two tamp.prints, one was Pollok the other was just a wild Tamp ....I got no clue which one I used like a year ago πŸ˜‚
I'll just make my own name up since it's a clone , maybe mix my user name with it and call it tampon

Anybody know why I can't get the caps to open? Not a single fruit has opened up. They just grow and then begin to go bad.

Have you fiddled with FAE yet? My tamps always looked super wonky and with very small caps when I grew them in tubs.

Edit: pic tax, hope to joint this thread in the coming time. Rancho Agosto on coir, cased with coir/sand/verm, sprinkled with loose verm after eating the casing pretty fast. I intend to mist it a lot and don't want it to get matted.

Guys COULD it also be genetic? I mean no disrespect, I'm possibly wrong anyway. I have one Tamps variety that has opened up caps before entirely, and other times not...
and other Tamps varieties growing right next to them have opened up their caps fully also. Same conditions and everything.

But this same variety I have, of Ps. Tampanensis "M#1" seems
to only SOMETIMES open up it's caps, even enough to print.

Nov 27th. Caps are still the same after multiple flushes. Ps. Tampanensis "M#1"

Nov. 2nd 2025 Grown in the same tub, same light, same FAE, etc. Different variety, "Beulah" Tampanensis.

Aug 2025 Same variety but caps are different. Ps. Tampanensis "M#1"

This is ultra interesting, I too thought it was FAE and even mentioned to Thurman the same thing but I'm wondering about those genetics Fascinating!  :takingnotes:

Duuuuuude, Tampanensis and ATL#7 are so amazing, and everyone a lot of the time have different looking ATL7's, it's so crazy cool

It's possibly like that theory someone mentioned before, that ATL7 may be evolving as we cultivate it? Who knows
