Ah, gyttja.  It seems that this is a limited natural resource which I would like to avoid.  Also wouldn't it be quite acidic?

Maybe you favor zeolite over vermiculite?

Approximately what proportions would you recommend?

Coconut substrate-sapropel-zeolite 8-2-1 Regarding acidity-this is regulated in sapropel.

Semp jar from March, in the last week the mycelium seems to have dried/peeled back from the walls and pooled a significant amount of liquids. I believe the jar to be clean but if not I will stand corrected. Updates to come...

My first subtrop clone, I'm pretty satisfied with it. A Faht clone is backstage and will probably outperform it once it hits the stage, but this is my most satisfying pinset so far. Ignore the terribly neglected state, these didn't recieve any misting at al for the past 1.5 weeks.

Millet, spawned 1:4 to coir with calcium and liquid ferilizer (thanks Mojave!). Cased with sterilized verm from the dumpsterdived bag. Don't sterilize your verm kids! Unless it spontaneously sprouts molds when wet.

I’m sure it’s just as good as mine.  Most subtrop clones I’ve seen are pretty similar with how prolific they are.  it looks like yours will be a banger in the right conditions

Coyopolan from wild spores attempt #2
Finicky little guys. Abort easily to misting.

Original trays are limping along after multiple aborted flushes.
One did kick out these chonkers. Cloned the one on the right.

Yeah the tester jar turned out better than I expected. But these had their fair share of mistreatment, in a taped off FC without any care. In the heat, etc. We had a busy summer with very little time at home.

Found this plin this morning on an old plate. My plates are all dotted with primordia, but this is the first time anything grew out of those.

I set some grain jars aside last winter because I ran out of space to fruit them. They’ve sat on a shelf since January. I was going to dry and grind the mycelated grain, and I see green. So disappointing! The photos aren’t very sharp but you get the idea.
I don’t know when this first appeared. I sort of forgot about them until recently.

How long can a jar of overgrown grain stand?
What is the best age of mycelium for casing?
