Well shitski.  I now see why, the pattern of growth.  Fooled me because it was growing slowly.  Well that plate is tossed.  I am the Mold King.  Changing my subtitle.

14 jars nocced up now, although for two subtrop and two Mib I am growing healthy mold cultures.

The UV light is doing what it is supposed to, and really well.  It is powerful.  And as I say, I turn it off when I'm in there;  don't want menlanoma.  I think it's a great idea and am grateful to @el53 who suggested it.

Hospitals put them up to kill airborne nasties.  You may notice skonces facing up with blue lights. If you have them there?

Must be UV-C to be effective.  They also make them to install in a forced-air furnace.  I installed one for my mother in her last decade with COPD. (She worked decades in a smoking office)

You can do a Duck search.

FYI, black light is usually UV-A with a longer wavelength and used for visual effects, forensics and forgeries, UV-C is a shorter wavelength and is used to sterilize due to its ability to damage DNA.  UV-C light systems are usually a bit expensive and have a lifespan for effectiveness.

If you have a black light (UV-A), it’s useless at sterilizing anything

Correct Headass.  If you refer above you'd see that I bought this flood to bleach out staining of Tesla displays (manufacturing defect), and it was completely effective.  Of course it is UV-C.

I should have thought Dude could infer that we get trich and bacteria on our plates from dust, which carries the spores and yeasts, bacteria, etc stirred up from our activities.  Hence, the SAB. 

This is why I work my plates as vertically as I can these days, and so far I am down to no contamination.  To noc jars I lift the (two-piece) lid only long enough to slip in the wedges.  Based on experience I don't trust anything in the air.  I cling-wrap all plates and spray h2o2 on all jar mouths before they go in the SAB.

I leave the room with clouds of dust we can't see and I turn on the UV light.  Enough said.  If you don't like the idea, do not use it.

How are you down to no contamination when we've all called out your identification ability here?

FYI, I am not asking due to not knowing, im asking if you understand what you're doing.

Don't take any of this as any form of insult or as you say.... denigrating.

I'm an adult and I assume you are as well, act like one and have a proper discussion.
