Dude, I didn't want to make you sad, I'm truly sorry. I can see how it might seem like I was having a laugh at your expense and I apologize for that. I know it's unfair as well, I've seen a lot of people wrapping plates like that and this is the first time I've said anything on here, guess you where just unlucky.

Let me try to make it good again, alright? First, it could be an underlying shame that made me take it up, see you and me are out numbered, several members think parafilm is gold covered shit and a waste of money, maybe I was just taking my insecurity out on you, my bad.

It could also be that I really want people to use parafilm the way that serves them the best. So I'll try to do that now. I know that there are single and double row parafilm, but I only use single so that is all I can help with.

First, always keep you parafilm in a thick ziplock bag so it doesn't dry out and get brittle on you.

Next thing is not to be afraid to use scissors to get the most out of your parafilm roll, it's expensive. I don't cut them in my SAB, but I use ISO on my scissors and wear gloves when I cut it and keep my cut parafilm in small Ziploc's. And when I wrap a plate I always put the covered side against the plate.

I use both 90mm and 55mm plates. For 90mm plates I use two square, like this.

I then cut it in the middle, like this.

For 55mm plates I cut 1 and 1/2 half, like this.

The two different sizes look like this.

The last important thing about parafilm is that it is made so you can stretch it, the reason that that is important is because parafilm breath quite different before and after it's stretched.

There are videos on the tube where you could see someone do it and also practice on an old or empty plate to get better, not because I want you to, but because your wallet and your mycelium inside the plate will thank you.

Seriously, I meant no ill will, please don't hate me :uhoh: And just so you know, it might have been below the belt, but I didn't know you had nuts, could be a vulva for all I know, so I was not aiming at your balls

Thank you my friend for this long detailed parafilm lesson.:bow2:

Dont worry its more about me that i tryd many times with agar and every time i try it goes south and then someone put a little bit salt on the wound

I have only 90mm dishes and i figured out that 2 pieces of parafilm started to break for me and i am trying now with 3 pieces and it is a little bit easier for me.
I already strored some fresh clusters in the fridge for new cloning and my new plates should arrive today so i can practise again and again.

But the most important thing is that i will continue my long and rewardful journey in cultivation world with many pros and cons to come.

I'm sure this will be of value to some newer users.

Clear presence of some form of bacteria from the clone transfer, clones will start out a bit wet and then will grow out normally, this however just stayed wet and the mycelium hasn't been able to grow beyond it.

I have multiple clean clones but this is a good excuse to practice cabin sequester.

I did a cabin sequester for the first time recently, no glass slides or anything fancy just agar on top. But I made my agar really soft that day so it just kinda oozed down into the “cabin” )if that’s what it’s called, ya know what I mean.) It ended up as a sort of hybrid CS/pour over thing. I took the myc that grew up through the agar. It worked, I had a very bacterial culture and now I don’t.

As a vendor myself, I've been there. Being a  cultivator is one thing. But sending stuff out is a whole nother game. Unfortunately we cannot control what climates packages go through on the way to the consumer. One thing that greatly helps agar from melting in the summer and winter is surprisingly salt tho.

I got all excited to finally pour some black plates and then I quickly realized my plates weren't gonna solidify after I started pouring. I'm not sure where I went wrong. I used 10g agar, 13g BRF, 5 g activated charcoal to 500ml water. Anybody have any issues with charcoal causing issues with not being able to solidify?
Really not sure what happened.

I wasnt talking to you. I was talking to the people who order plates versus making them. They wouldn't have summer heat wave melted plate problems if they stopped being lazy and made thier own.

So take youre dumbass comment and walk on fool... sup?

Keep on with your predatory biz tactics preying on vulnerable noobs and overcharging them for science jello.

Ok let's do a zapotecorum grow off. That's an easy one. Or do you want something more challenging. We can do gandalfiana. Don't worry I can supply the spores. I'm sure you don't even know where to find that.
