It is catchy.  I’m a tad too zonked to follow up with another, but that’s alright. People have made up numerous glorious fitting nicknames for our valiant & benevolent leaser.  That said, I decided to make one. Itz shite cuz..idk, yolo.

Problem with this is it disproportionately effects people who are living paycheck to paycheck. 

People who spend all their money will have all their money taxed, while people who make extra will have their savings untaxed.  This means people who earn more than what they need to live will have a lower effective tax rate than the people who can barely make ends meet. 

And that problem only gets worse as an individuals wealth increases. For example a very rich person who only needs to spend 1% of their actual income would only have that 1% taxed.

Yes.  Sales taxes are regressive, as are tariffs.  Flat taxes largely become regressive via write-offs and carve outs the wealthy can take advantage of.  It always surprises me that many people don't understand this.
