Years ago my first 6qt tub was looking dandy. It was my first close canopy grow. I was in a hurry one morning and it looked dry so I started misting heavily. I starting feeling like I was tripping as all my mushrooms started to turn blue as hell. Then I got a huge wiff of isopropyl. Soaked them fuckers in iso 🀣

Idk if its my struggle with object permanence or just the shitty memory, but I already forgot about it to the point I'd have to go find it to know what you mean, so dont beat yourself up on my account- it's already fallen out of existence for me. 🀣🀣

Same reason I've probably asked the same question more than once - I can forget that I already went down that rabbit hole. I feel no insecurities about my intelligence, but sometimes it's a chore to keep on top of things.

Edit: I hadnt seen it yet. I will likely appreciate the nerding out bc I need to understand things, so thanks man.

Edit #2: Appreciated for sure. Thanks man. I have to understand things to the point that I could explain it someone else if I had to. I cant operate on "I'm doing this bc someone said I should." if that makes sense.

I confess I must be doing the same drugs as Thurman.

I got off of all social media and stopped watching the 24hr news loop about 5 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did. I will watch the local news in the mornings while I’m drinking my coffee and getting ready to head out the door but that’s it. Best thing I ever did for my sanity! Anxiety levels went way down. This site is the extent of my online interaction.

Yeah I was tired of watching  my friends all fight over politics and literally disown each other. I lean more libertarian without the racist aspect so I was always like all of you are fucking nutz so one day I decided to just unplug from all of it. My mental health immediately improved.

Cultivation confession

Forgive me fathers, for I doth sin

I don’t think I’ve ever had spawn I didn’t break and shake at least 3-4 times

Everyone has always said to wait till 20% or what have you and then one final break and shake at the end, I get it, but I can’t help myself, I feel the need to disperse those myc points like a heeler wants to bite your leg

And the real confession is, I love it. I don’t care if it makes them take longer, shaking jars/ breaking up spawn is one of my favorite aspects of this hobby it’s so satisfying

And not even arguing their own points. Just what they were told or what ever the online flavor of the day was. Liberals/conservatives would put out their talking points and then they would all blindly argue them. Too stupid to realize that’s what the puppet masters want them to do. Stay divided.

I pulled back to innoculating with a wedge the size an a2a transfer. I'd let it sit long enough to grab some grain and then disperse. I have no data to prove this is better, but my brain cant accept that I should let that sit to 20-30% before shaking. I want the dispersed jump off points asap. 🀣

Arguing about politics with people that largely uninformed is one of the biggest time wasters there is. Very few people have political views that can be changed by arguing and it just causes frustration and hard feelings.

Maybe the biggest negative effect of the Trump era is just the amount of energy around political fighting and finger pointing that he amps up.

the only remotely political thing i will say in my own thread is that my agenda is well beyond just growing mushrooms.  my objective here is and has always been to spread our knowledge and our medicine as far as is within our power: to colonize the earth whole.

we are innoculating with consciousness.  we are cultivating compassion.  do not lose sight my brothers and sisters.

Exactly! You get it Thurman 😎

I confess that I recently abandoned even looking at an individual jar to decide whether to shake it. Everything on the shelf gets shaken at the same time, even though it's all at different stages of growth and time since inoculation. 95%, 20%, doesn't matter. Keeping track of different jars and when they got shaken isn't on my agenda, and I'm more paranoid about a jar missing the shake than anything else.

The only jars that don't do well with multiple shakes, in my personal experience, are the ones that are perched on the bacterial precipice.
