Just wanted to share my first, relatively successful mono! I've concentrated on shoeboxes up to now to get a feel for things so am mega-stoked to get this on my first proper tub 😜

Variety is golden mammoth (whatever that is) and I've been printing and cloning the good ones on subsequent runs. I put agar to grain then S2B on 28/12, pins appeared on 7/1, harvest 12/1. Faster than a shoebox!

First flush: harvested 200g wet in the morning


then another 200ish in the evening with a whole bunch more to come 😍

Maybe a bit early but I'm gonna case these tamps today. Because reasons.
These were spawned similar to the Laymix method. Most of the grain was mixed into the sub but I retained enough to just lightly cover the top. I covered it all with a suedo-casing. I didn't pack it down tight, I just shook it gently into place and tapped it on the counter. This tub is spawned at about 1:4 using white millet and coir/sand.

it got dripped on, not as wet as it looks


My last batch of casing mix ended up smelling like egg farts. So after pasteurizing I added a breathing hole. The filter patch is probably way overkill but I have them and haven't been using them for anything else.


I compressed the sub enough to add about ½in of CM to the top.
Casing evenly sprinkled over and the excess gently scraped off even with the rim.


Misted thoroughly and headed back to the water tub.
