Not that you should but... It certainly works.  I find no distinct advantages other than maybe a more uniform pinset over the surface.  Kinda reminds me of Jiffy Pop!

1.2kg bags have been disappointing with pioppinos, this is the biggest flush I’ve had with them and no second flush at all

Let them go a touch too long :/

Pios are beautiful but I've never had a yield that wasn't a little disappointing. Maybe it's time to do some ms trials.

Errr, would you believe I haven’t been able to get spores from them?
Thankfully I’ve been gifted some spores and a culture, just trying to control a mite infestation then I’ll be onto it 👍
Damn they taste good though, I reckon they’re better than shiitake

Not sure if this is worth noting but I’ve never given any of my gourmets a spray before and decided to give the pioppinos a spritz in the hope it’d trigger a second flush, lo and behold 2 days later

Just gave 2 other bags I’ve recently pulled first flushes off a spray also, will keep you guys informed.
And just pulled 3.3kg of lions mane from this neglected bottom shelf tub I let go wild for a second flush

It ain’t pretty but it won’t matter when it’s powder

Nah, just throw some in a smoothie every morning, might though as everyone wants it and I certainly now have excess, it goes for $6 a gram over here which I find crazy!
And AKA, that was exactly the same as my only other second flush after I’d put it outside, hope it works because my first flush yeilds have sucked in smaller bags, I’m constantly amazed at the either complete lack of information about growing gourmets or the straight up contradictory info out there.

I love leaving old subs in the tent when I have room. Just picking stragglers for dinner tonight.

Can't wait to get my hands on those! Did you grow them in a unicorn bag?

I did. I wait for the to pin, cut the top of the bag off, and toss them in the tent.

They’ll be in your mailbox next week.

Same for other Oysters types? Or are you cutting the top off specifically because they are King?

Awesome, I appreciate it!

Regular oysters you gotta slice open to get good pinsets. Kings grow more like traditional mushrooms
