The small cups are just 125ml pf cakes put into 9 oz disposable cups. The sub mix is straw/verm/horse manure/rye grass seed/ brf. Maybe some coir. I make half the amount of standard pf recipe of verm/brf and make up the rest with the other ingredients. It ends up about 40-50%straw mix:50-60% verm/brf.
The 600ml deli cups are pasteurized straw/verm/coir/manure mixed with colonized rgs.
Cased with pasteurized jiffy mix with 25% additional verm.
Others that grow in larger containers seem to have great success with grain to coir or coir/verm substrate with verm casing or no casing.
This variety would probably do well with just standard pf tek recipe.

Thanks for the information. I’ll try it out with the pan prints I have when things slow down outside and I start growing again. All the ingredients I either have or are nearby. It’s good to live in the sticks.
What are you using to keep the cakes out of the water? Is it cut down plastic fencing in a roll?

Hello everyone, I would like to show the spore germination that I carried out of Psilocybe zapotecorum, I used malt extract, dextrose and nutritional yeast for the agar, the germination was in 5 days, and in the photo it has been 10 days since germination.
I obtained the spores from a friend who collected in the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca at an approximate height of 2200 meters above sea level, in a coniferous forest, in a landslide area near streams and water currents in june 2014.

How well do plates hold up under cold storage?
I’m thinking I should germ up a few more from the print I have while it’s still fresh.
Just in case something gets fucked up when I go to fruiting with the plates I have going. Sounds like a good idea to have backups as opposed to starting from scratch no?

Plates keep a long time at room temp. But wedges suspended in sterilized water or limited nutrient liquid culture are viable alternatives that seem to last indefinitely.

Hello, sorry, it was a mistake. The collection was made in June of this year (2024), I suppose that's why the germination was very quick.

I had totally forgotten reading about those storage techniques. Perfect time to get them under my belt!
Supa, couldn’t remember that name for the life of me. You mentioned it to me once before but couldn’t remember where.

The plates are doing good, just transferred to T1 the other day after a good while of letting the germ grow out.
They really are soooo slooow, which is good haha cuz life is so fucking busy.

It's sold in the dollarama garden section  to keep animals from walking/lying on the soil. It's  great for elevating cakes. I also use it on outside pots. Discourages animals from digging in them.

Moose dung zaps update (because I'm bored as all get out waiting on my gumby ass houseguests to leave :lol:).  Mist, mist, mist, mist.  Much more aggressive and consistent with misting this time, and it looks like I'll have less aborts.  Dropped the box trying to hide it and bruised my largest fruit.  May have shit my pants...

Is this an MS culture (by MS I mean a selection from multispore...) or a clone? I think you should clone these bastards! Great job, tub wizardry. :hatsoff:

Any of those would work. You're going to have variable results mostly because there's such a heterogenous population in circulation, when you compare with cubensis.

My talpa #2, post the first flush I stripped off the casing, meant to re-case and fruit but didn't get around to it.

Started pinning with the lid on, so I moved it to the fruiting chamber and I'm getting many slow pins now.
