Is that where you inoculated the plate at?  It could be whispy mycelium, but normally it would show up in the middle or all over the plate if it was.  My gut feeling is leaning towards mold both from location on the plate as well as how thin it looks. 

How long ago did you inoculate it and with what source?

Of course when I went to put a drop on the middle of the plate it ended up blowing out of the syringe way too fast and too much quantity. Lesson learned there. So, it started out on the edge. It does seem to have a little bit of height to it near the center of the clusters.

7-10 days ago, spore syringe.

Helpful tip: If you just squeeze the syringe tube without putting a needle on it you should be able to get 1 drop out of it.

Edit: without using the plunger, literally squeeze the tube with your fingers.

The second one has nice organized, radial growth. I'm not sure I could tell cubensis apart from some species, but it doesn't have the disorganized growth (or surface sporulation) characteristic of most mold.

The first one is a little squirrely. Might be tomentose mushroom mycelium...looks more like oyster mycelium than mold to me, but I don't know what it's supposed to be. :smile:

Ps. hoogshagenii putting out some weird blob growth. The growths are forming 100% within the agar. Not above or below but literally inside. I carved out some chunks to clone. Rubbery texture. Maybe something good will come of it.

It's supposed to be cubensis. When you say radial, are you talking about the rings? Plate A is a more perfect circle than plate C, but plate C has more rings.

Plate a is either mold or a monokaryon. Disorganized growth not growing in one straight, outward direction. Id play with it a bit if it was a panaeolus but it's not. Or keep it if you want to breed. How early did you take your transfer on the germ plate

Germ plate was June 23 and the transfer was July 5, so 12 days.

So you took it pretty early upon first signs of growth then eh. I bet it's a monokaryon. accidental monos are always fun. Throw it on some dikaryon plates and start some crosses 😎
