I was watching MTV a little while ago. I got pretty upset when I watched this show they have now. Two people come on, and the whole show is like that hot-or-not website: they get compared to each other: who has the more attractive face? Who has the more attractive body? They get compared to their girlfriends, they get compared to pictures of people, to random people on the street. They have to try to pick who is more attractive in the comparison then the audience votes on who they think is more attractive and the percent who voted for who is revealed and everyone laughs at the person who loses and at the end they win a prize or some shit.

This description doesn't really do it justice, you'd have to see it to fully appreciate how sick this gameshow is. The people who put on these shows must be adults, they must understand what an evil way of institutionalizing shallowness and superficiality they got going on with the show. Then you got every other ad on MTV is for fuckin Clearasil or a better volume shampoo or designer underwear.
I started watching MTV when I was about 12 I guess. I think I was about 16 or 17 before I started to realize how wrong it is and stopped watching. It looks like things have gotten so much more intense since then. I hope the kids today are still smart enough to see through this shit to understand the evil in it.

What do you expect from MTV, they hope to one day breed a group of superficial corporate whores that listen to commericals more then they listen to their parents...and my sister is one of them, unfortunetly...

can't really blame MTV for it...they're just providing to the demand of society...that whole pop band image is all based on image and if that's what that audience is looking for MTV is going to provide it...it's a problem that goes deeper then MTV...they are just providing what society and their audience wants...if it's not them...it will be some other TV station...or some other reality show...when shows have an agenda of radically making someone over through surgery and showing their transformation...you know what society and that type of audience is looking for...

I just looked it up on their website - it's called Your Face or Mine. I don't get cable so I never saw it but here's the description:

"Let's get real here--people don't only care about what their significant others think of their looks. They want to know what the world thinks too. Your Face or Mine is a brand new game show that satisfies this curiosity by pitting couples against a studio audience to get final judgments on their grills. One couple member is compared to another random person, be it a regular person off the street or a celebrity. The studio audience votes on which one they think is better looking. Then, we put the other half of the couple on the spot to guess who the audience picked. Let's hope their significant other has a sense of humor!"
