I watch Mtv at the gym because all the mindless crap makes me laugh and I don't even realize how long Im on the equiptment.  All that reality stuff is more amusing than envolving or even entertaining. It makes you relaize how sad people are and how just because you have money and looks doesn't mean that you are even worth shit in the grand scheme of it.... Oh well I have a semi-excuse to watch that shit at the gym... Im a girl:shrug:

I have a friend that uses this excuse all the time. She's a punk and doesn't like that shitty mtv music, but she watches those stupid fucking reality shows and such.

I watch mtv. I just don't watch the hills and other shows similar that i can't stand. I am watching vh1s greatest hard rock songs right now. i like old rock so its cool but it's not all hard rock. and i love siddartha!

Maybe being envious is a bit presumptious...?  I mean, I see alot of wealthy people all the time, and they are just as fucked up as everyone else. Just as unhappy and bitter and insecure as anyone else.
Money isnt the answer, it can make things easier, but hardship is good for the soul, and without hardship people grow weak and lazy and dependant.
I'm glad I'm not a pampered little baby with expensive cars and big houses and 10 credit cards.

I cannot bare to watch MTV or VH1 or any of those reality show channels/ (which is really what they are now)

I am appalled at how many people become enthralled in this shit. I remember in my old high school people would talk about it in class, "omg did you hear about that new show" "omg who was in it" "I missed last episode tell me tell me"

See, the problem there is, you're buying into the same bullshit from another angle.

MTV promotes fear through falsification of being and a constant bombardment of sheep-controlling subliminal trend-advertising.

The fact that you end up looking down upon people in general as a result of your experience is evidence of this.

It's good that you've moved past the "Derrr, OMG it's real peeplz" phase that a lot of people get caught in with this reality television bullshit.

However, there is still another step to be made in the realization of how much negativity you're subconsciously absorbing by watching those shows. It's mind control. Very subtle, but mind control none the less. You might feel you're above it, but you're still watching, now aren't cha?

This is just my opinion, btw. I don't mean to be a dick. This is just how I see things.

Why do they call MTV "MTV" when there is no music in their TV anymore?

I like watching music videos, but MTV doesn't have them anymore.

All MTV is (today anyway) is a steaming pile of horse shit.
