Most likely bad spores, I'm surprised it hasn't change color yet to be honest.

I'd hate to be right here but my experience is just pushing me to say mold unfortunately.

To be honest I have plates of mold that are more organized,  mold is interesting.

Doesn’t look like you got any cube myc to germ at all. Bummer. Yeah I’d start over maybe with different spores. If only someone could help you out with some new spores.

I started off with a kit and injected the entire syringe to a bag of grain before coming across this site. The bag is taking forever to colonize and I wanted to get started with agar so I made some plates from oatmeal water. I still had the syringe so I just stabbed the plate hoping it had some spores in it still. It’s been fun seeing the myc clean up after each transfer.

Interesting… to my untrained eye these looks like my plates just more dense I guess? And it’s white so idk. I’ll take your guys advice and dispose. RIP

FWIW ive had similar plates like yours that colonized jars no problem. Maybe you want to atleast make the attempt before tossing?
