I was thinking like if you were to raise a rabbit in pure darkness or grow regular B+ in pitch black. Something that has the genes to produce pigment but isn't exposed to light.

mushrooms grow like this in pitch black


you can more or less get leucistic fruits by having really really low rh.

if youve ever noticed lighter caps near tub holes...

not always but ime i tend to see them with those circumstances

A rabbit's fur and skin color are not determined by light.

Does anybody know any good links off hand you could share with me about testing LC on agar and what they look like when they are contaminated…I mean..some are obvious…I’m pretty new still tho and it’s really hard to tell sometimes..I’ve been using a syringe and dropping a few drops of LC on the middle of the plate. Of course the LC kinda swishes all over the plate and I end up getting little colonies of myc all over. I used an inoculation loop on my last test and I don’t think I’m going to go back to syringes ever. Much easier. But I still have about 20 plates filled with LC I’m testing and some I really just can’t tell. Some are growing nothing at all so I was assuming that was a good thing and I only got the liquid not the actual mycelium chunk onto the agar..which I was assuming meant my liquid around the myc isn’t contaminated if nothing is growing. Everything growing is white lol. I just want some reference pics of LC on agar of what it’s not supposed to look like haha

Pretty sure that's just the whole hygrophanous cap thing.
