anyone not on the shroomery team for folding@home?
    #2355467 - 02/19/04 03:39 PM (20 years, 1 month ago)

you should be! here's how

--------------------
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
-Al Einstein

Use a text editor to open the file 'client.cfg' in the Folding@home directory. One line will specify your team, change it to 'team=12679'. Save the file and restart Folding@home, you should now be a member. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for helping!

Just thought I'd mention that those of you who are running Windows NT, 2000 or XP should check out my recently released Folding@home Service Installer. This program will allow you to install F@H as a Windows service, which is the fastest and most unobtrusive way to use the software. It's in beta right now so please contact me with any bug reports or feature suggestions. Thanks!

I've just installed the folding@home software on the second house computer here.. so I have it running on two comps now. (Just started running it on the first computer three days ago) Hope that will help our position
But looking at our production history.. it appears as though it shot off the charts  today.

I folded a while back but then my reformated and lost the client.

THe new GUI version opens in the systray then disapears (it doesnt appear as a host process on the taskman.... Any ideas?

For now I will just use the commandline client...
I jsut want to be able to hide it from sight (which wouldn't be a problem if windows had functionality for multiple desktops).

SO yeah, I hope somebody else has had this problem too

What version of Windows are you using? If it's NT, 2000 or XP, give the Folding@home Service Installer a try. You could also check the F@H FAQ to see if they have any information which pertains to your problem.

Worst-case scenerio, try WindowHide.

Thanks for helping our team!

I'll do it as soon as I recompile my kernel (could be awhile).
