PCing for 30 minutes instead of 20 is news to me, but I can't see how that would change anything. I'm doing pre-pour in jars, so there's no way 20 minutes at pressure isn't sterilizing everything.

In control plates that were intentionally contaminated, I saw some bacterial colonies, but they always stayed small. Plainly visible, but small. IMO, bacteria should spread quickly on agar. Stored plates never showed any signs of contamination.

For now, I have to switch up my agar nutrients, because I can't even test my SAB sterile technique unless I have agar that will readily contaminate.

I did have one batch that I removed the jars as soon as the lock dropped, but I don't think I removed the foil. The lids were dry the next day when I inoculated, but wet filters could have been the issue.
