I would try spawning a couple to shoeboxes and see what happens. A lot of times you can still get a really good flush from bacterial spawn before mold shows up.


Using less coir so the tub colonizes quickly helps also. If that doesn’t work you could top fruit the rest. Or try fahts method of letting it dry out and see if that kills the bacteria. That might be a cool experiment actually.

Flammulina velutipes that grew after more than a month of drought and super low humidity. I just saw that part of the sawdust was lifted suddenly. I looked and there were pins. I have watered them, but I think they were dead at that point. I'll give it a couple days. Still a miracle that they were able to do this.

Ooooo what substrate, temp and humidity for those Zapos!?!? I am trying to germinate those now. No luck with my first regular attempt so made a spore syringe with the rest of the print and some sterile water and let it sit for a few days then used it to knock up another plate. If that fails my last ditch will be to use the remainder of the syringe on a BRF cake.

For how long can you keep them that way? I wouldn't recommend this for "getting rid of bacteria". Most bacteria we're concerned about form endospores and those don't magically disappear when you dry your spawn.
