I learned this by reading Terence McKenna's books, like Psilocybin: Magic Mushroom Grower's Guide by him & his brother Dennis. They refer to cubensis as Stropharia cubensis in it. I have the first edition from 1976, pretty cool book, mostly just for it's place in psychedelic history since the methods are outdated.

Yep those are 3 meters from the base of a group of 5 cypress. In mixed cherry and softwood chips. Gave them a little Doug fir chips to aid them along. The total mycelial mat is about 3 square meters and expanding

Habitat: Old Clearcuts,Logging Road,Trails,and Forest Floor


Last Hunt:
I received an email from someone who has commented on my YouTube videos before, he was asking if I was looking for a foraging partner. It as one of my last free days the next day, so I ask if you he wanted to meet up tomorrow at a neutral woodlot area. That way it gives me a chance to go hunt areas I normally wouldn't drive to, and see how good the area looks and how old it is. We met up at the parking lot and walked are way to the clearcut, and we spent a good 4 hours hunting. He had only found Pellis once last year, from watching my videos which I thought was pretty cool. I explained the habitat they liked, their characteristics, and also just answering any questions he had about them. We mostly just found small patches here and there, but eventually we found a nice sized patch, biggest patch he'd seen so far. I didn't take many pics or pick many for myself, I took 5 specimens to keep for research and all the rest we found went in his basket for his research. Overall it was a good experience, and makes me considering maybe doing it again next season, but I'm still wary.

I gave up....just bought some spores and going to grow my own and spread it whenever I go in the next few months. I'll offer some clues to make a game out of it :laugh:

Not salty at all.  You asked a question and I gave the quickest answer I could, maybe you missed that post.

There's two other recent cyan finds on this page as well.

You're in one of the best little towns for finding them, get out there and sniff about some chips.
