Let's be honest, and look at things from a truthful perspect
    #2755159 -

Heres the point I want to reach to people.

Many people think America is real big, bad and horrible, and...while I agree for the most part, I think we need to come to realstic terms here.

I used to be the biggest anti-american dude around. The reason being - I saw how corrupt it had become, and how far away it was from its original design (or what we are TOLD was its original design).

I saw police harassing citizens, I saw corporations controlling politics...I saw money as the main concern of society, instead of evolution and progression.

I saw many, many wrongs, but I wasnt focusing on the positives at all.

I wasn't focusing on the security of having a government, or the security of an established medical system...even if the medical system is corrupt, it still has saved lives, and many to boot.

My point is, America is a leading world power. Would you really believe that another country would do it any better than america has, if they were to be in the same situation?

I mean, before we start attacking governmental systems, we need to find the root of the problem....which in my opinion is human nature in the first place.

I think we haven't evolved far enough yet (and this evolution is NOT physical....I think this "evolution" could happen to every man on this planet just about if they actually TRIED, and were raised correctly). I think we havent evolved far enough yet to establish a working, positive government that truly will be for the people.

I honestly believe the thing that will change all of this is self-awareness. Not of our individual selves, but self-awareness of ourselves as a WHOLE. I call it self awareness, because humanity itself has a "self". It is a single entity, consisting of smaller entities.

Once we learn that we all make up one big body of awareness, I dont think we will be constantly battling with each other anymore, instead we will learn to live as One.

That will be our next step in evolution, and suprisingly, I think it will happen within the next 10 years.

Although I think this because of my spiritual belief system (2012 will cause a great shift in consciousness), there is another source that I believe will inevitably evolve humans as I said.

This is the internet.

We are all learning to link together, and I think its already beginning to change human life greatly.

Imagine another 50 years of steady progression for this world. With the internet, we truly are re-defining life.

So, my two points in this thread are:

1) You can blame America for our worlds problems all you want, but you are really just using a Scapegoat. Instead, you should be blaming Evil istelf, which is the action/intention to satisfy oneself at the expense of others.

2) Humanity IS indeed progressing, wether we admit it or not, in MANY areas, and our next step in evolution is to become awareness of the collective concsiousness of humanity.

Have a good day

SpringChickita said:
Evil is relative.

Our soldiers over in Iraq, have killed innocent men, women, and children.

Al-Quieda flew a couple of planes into the World Trade Centers, and killed innocent people.

Both parties think they are right, and on the side of the Highest Good.

Which one is Evil?

i dont think evil is relative, i think were both evil.

I can answer this.

Both scenarios to not prove Evilness.

This is evil:

Intention or Action that is done out of selflessness, while knowingly depriving another's existance.

Thats it, plain and simple.

So, in both those situations you mentioned, the man who kills a deer, and the lady who buys a hamburger, you cant declare wether one is even evil based on the situations.

Do you truly feel the suffering the animals are going through? Are they intentionally inflicting pain or causing death of the animal, while being consciously aware of what is going on?

I think those are more issues of Ignorance that Pure EVil

Just like the Bhagvad Gita states, there are three main Modes of existance of Action with Intention.

One is ignorance. This path causes you to be reborn againa and again, until you LEARN from ignorance, and progress beyond that point of ignorance.

The second mode is Passion. doing something for yourself, because of its benefits. This causes the kind of karma you dont really want, because you are thinking only for yourself, and through your emotions and wrong intentions. This causes rebirth into a more hellish realm (which I believe would still be earth, but your situation will just be worse).

The third, and only truthful mode is Goodness. Goodness is doing for others, and helping others, without regard of self.

So, you have two forms of "evil" and one form of "good".

My question is, what kind of evil act is comitted out of anything besides Passion and/or Ignorance?

I assume the only true intelligence in this universe is Love. All other inteligences are blocked somewhere along the line, still evolving from negative karma or something similiar.

Read Plato's Republic for a good starting point on defining good and evil

Eventually, I think the idea of subgroups of the human race will dissolve. No more boundaries such as countries, races, religions ect, as eventually our evolution will reach a point of awareness where we realize how meaningless seperation is. Instead of viewing humans as the same species as ourselves, we often primarily view nationality and disregard the fact of our common race. Wars, political disagreements, and all that crap is just pointless and hindering to our evolution. Already though, globalization is rising, the internet like you said setting a precendent in virtually instantaneous (relative to our perception of time) transmission of consciousness from one mind to thousands. As far as 2012, I don't put much faith in that year being more significant for evolution than say 2013, but who knows. Eventually, we will reach a peak of evolution and fully merge all consciouesness instanteously to create some sort of mass enlightenment. Atleast that's my view :/
