Hoping it delivers but I have a few other plates from different sectors that I'm testing as well.

Put some MVP and jack flash swabs to agar last night as well.

Looks perfectly fine just growing more through the agar than on top from what it looks like. Still perfectly healthy looking

Thanks D3, I'll keep at it then.

I've recently taken to sticking the dry ingredients in the media bottles with cold water and just letting the PC cycle cook it instead of me mixing it in a pan on the stove first...

I'm getting clearer plates with no lme bits, but could this be the cause of the wispy stuff?

Doubtful, shouldn’t affect it. Could just be the culture too. How soft is your agar?

I'd say it's on the firm side of things. Scalpel blade does have some resistance when cooling.

I got hold of telephone brand to see if my agar was the issue, but this is the same.

I'm going to grab some yeast today and try that later.

I tried instant potato flakes and honey and the myc is great on those plates, but I struggled to see where to take transfers from as the agar came out the same white as the myc. :wow:

Thanks man, I do enjoy the agar work, this thread inspired me to get a hood built and start pouring! :bow2:

I transferred some TED spores to agar and not sure if I should be concerned about the yellow?

I see a yellow spot in the second picture and can we get a better pic of the first plate? The background contrast is making it hard for me to tell if that's a bacteria pond surrounding the myc or agar.

You could try to do the Josex method with brf pucks but it’s probably not worth it

Also, is there anything I can do to get thicker growth. I'm using pretty soft agar, my recipe is 4.5g agar 8g brf per 500 ml
