This plate just looked like eye candy after I took some wedges to master grain jars.

What would happen if I took 3 xfers from one ms plate, then from those 3 plates took a wedge from each and put them all to the same jar of grain. And how would that compare to taking one xfer from ms to me to one plate to clean it up, then a wedge from that T1 to grain, clone fruit, and put to master

This belongs in the 'agar porn' thread, if there is one. If not, there should be!

I've got my first 6 plates going right now (MS -> agar -> t1 (x5) ) but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how to label/organize them. What information does your label have? I can decipher Amazonian, 12/7 and possibly that it's a t4 transfer? Cheers, mate!

Thanks man I thought so too when I first saw it, Gorgeous I'd love to have a timelapse of the growth!

I took 4 plates from my original spore streak so labeled them A1-A4 - all were very separate clusters of spores, and started T1++ from there. But since I take more than one transfer off each plate I had to start T3A,B,C etc. The system is starting to get long and disorganized. I'm thinking of just numbering them and keeping a spreadsheet of the lineage instead. So yeah Amazonian, Third agar plate, 4th transfer, 4th wedge of that transfer.

I love the spirit of this site for real.

So I randomly got PFC to start throwing some crazy rhizomorphic sections at T2

I also got some mycelium to grow from transferred tissue, what do I do there? Same idea as others? Transfer away the leading edge until it organizes?

Yeah the same concept applies to clone plates, take a small transfer from the leading edge.

I like to take 3 tissue samples from each fruit that I clone to the plate and then transfer from the three best areas around the tissue onto a new plate.

It might be overkill but I like having the options in the beginning just to be sure I have something viable.

That middle plate looks suspect, I always feel off about plates with that almost transparent look to them.

My "system" has been getting more complex also, but what good is it?
Ha, it seems like where a winner, RR picks a clone, came from doesn't matter.
Only that you have the winner as a Master. The date, number of transfers is
mildly interesting, but it's what looks worth sending to grain, right?

All those old plates don't mean diddly, am I right?
I'm keeping old plates around in case one pins, but even a pin isn't that big of a deal.
And by the time one pins yer prolly already going for spawning.

None of these plates were worth anything after I went to grain...

The only value is in a clone, that
has most of the characteristics yer lookin for.
