I agree with everything you just said.  Assange may know, but hasn't said.  Hersh's FBI contact may know, but Hersh hasn't ratted him out yet.

Which renders both of their opinions worthless as evidence.  The evidence we do have, however, points to Russia hacking the DNC and giving emails to Assange.  That isn't make believe.

Worthless as evidence in a court of law, sure.  But it also doesn't prove they're lying.  Both are protecting their sources for now...

It doesn't prove they're lying.  They don't even need to lie for it to be false though.  They could have just been lied to.  It doesn't really matter, though, because like you said, they're protecting their sources, and their sources could be the Russian government for all you know.

Seymour Hersh is 83 years old.... there's no fucking way he's still in the loop.

U.S. Intelligence planned to destroy WikiLeaks by purposely leaking to it false documents with the hope that the group would publish the fakes and forever obliterate their credibility.  Fortunately, that scheme was leaked to WikiLeaks, and the only one who lost credibility was US Intelligence.   I'm surprised so many here still put so much faith in them.

Perhaps you see nothing wrong with trying to trick people into believing something that's not true, but I find that despicable.  And if we know they try to trick people, why should anyone believe anything they say?

How does that not hurt it's credibility to try and discredit a whistleblowing website? It just proves that they're absolute scum to any normal person.

That's like saying how does it hurt America's claim to be the foremost representative of freedom and democracy globally when anticolonial movements all over the world believed in the propaganda, based their movement's ideals on the USA, and asked America for help only to be ignored like Ho Chi Minh and Castro, who then had to turn to the Soviet Union for support.

Do you think Biden doesn't lie?  It didn't matter who I voted for, Biden was going to win California regardless.

Oh my sweet summer child...

I am sorry to have to be the one to burst your bubble, but lying is a big part of the intelligence business, and wikileaks clearly is a security issue for America.  Like it or not, intelligence is a national security necessity, and it often works better than war, which you claim to dislike as well.  Maybe you think we should just trust the world to be nice to us.

Do you think Biden lies more than Trump? Trump wasn't the only alternative on the ballot. Do you think Trump was the most honest of them all?

I understand that, but I think it's wrong for the Government to lie to its own people.

How is it a security issue if you're not corrupt?

Dude, intelligence lies us into war.  Look at how many times that's happened.  THAT'S the kind of thing Wikileaks exposes.

That's not what we're talking about, though.  We're talking about lying to wikileaks.

And if you don't think it's a problem that a foreign company is publishing U.S. secret intelligence information, there's not a whole lot for us to discuss.

No, that's EXACTLY what we're talking about.  Intelligence leaked false documents to Wikileaks to try and hurt their credibility in the eyes of the public because Wikileaks was exposing the corruption inside our intelligence agencies.

You don't seem to understand Wikileaks.  They don't reveal secrets about how to build our latest weapons, or what our nuclear codes are.  They reveal secrets that expose wrongdoing and corruption.

Fair enough.  We'll agree to disagree on whether exposing Government corruption is ok.  I prefer my Government to not be corrupt, and corruption leaks are ok in my opinion.
