The killing of unarmed civilians.

Who said it was related?  The killing of reporters, children, and unarmed civilians by military personnel is a war crime regardless of any unrelated attempt to crack a password.  I don't even know what you're getting at here.  More Enlil riddles.

Fal is the galactic emperor of make believe

I don’t remember that trial

That's exactly the point.  The military killed reporters, children, and unarmed civilians and there wasn't even a trial.  Not only did Manning and Assange expose the crimes, but they showed the military doesn't even care about such crimes.

Now, where's that make believe you're talking about?  You have a bad habit of make believing things and not backing yourself up.

I'm not sure that what they did in that video was a crime at all.  It may have been.  It may not have been.  Unless/until they are charged and tried, it's not my place to say.

Assange has been ducking charges for 7 years.  As I've said several times, I don't know if he's guilty.  I do know that if his cause is as noble as you believe it to be, he should have faced those years ago instead of hiding.  His failure to do so severely undermines the structure of the pedestal upon which you've placed him.  Even if he is exonerated at some point down the line, he'll always look guilty in the eyes of many people.

The military has no interest in a serious investigation.  They allow this kind of behavior to happen, where soldiers laugh as they kill innocent civilians and children, and the Government is understandably pissed when Wikileaks exposes this behavior to the world.

No is claiming Assange is a saint.  We are saying that exposing Government corruption is a good thing, while you vigorously defend it just because Assange doesn't live up to your standards.

We agree that exposing government corruption is a good thing.  Where we differ is that you seem to think that exposing government corruption gives someone a pass for dodging criminal prosecution for sex crimes and hacking.

And I'm fine with him going to Sweden to face sex charges.  But as Glenn Greenwald pointed out, there are no new hacking charges against Assange that the Obama administration didn't already know about, and they let it go.

Why do we care all of a sudden?  It's because Assange exposed DNC corruption and possibly cost the establishment politician her election.

The password nonsense is just a lame excuse to put him in jail for exposing Government wrongdoing and trying to prevent that from happening again.

Assange isn’t a warrior for transparency. The mueller report clearly demonstrates his attempts to hide and obfuscate the source of the hacked DNC emails he published, including dragging the name of an innocent murder victim into the debate. He’s a loathesome individual.

Hillary isnt President. Donald Trump is. It’s his prosecutors and his justice department pursuing these charges. You think these guys are white knighting for Hillary? Or more likely they don’t have the same expansive view of the first amendment that the Obama administration had? Elections have consequences and one of the consequences of electing a guy who is constantly at odds with the press and their right to publish harmful information is that they have gone after someone who exists at the fringe edge of what the first amendment permits.

There's so many unbelievably stupid things about this statement that I don't even know where to begin.

1.  The Society of Professional journalists says "Reporters have both an ethical and legal obligation to protect these (often confidential) sources who take great risks to provide information to the public, through the reporters."  Assange is showing journalistic integrity by not exposing his sources.
2.  Mueller never even tried to interview Assange about anything, so to say he was hiding things from Mueller is ludicrous.
3.  Why does it matter what the source is?  If Bob released the DNC emails or if Joe released the DNC emails, the DNC emails are still the same.

We don't know if Seth Rich was innocent or not because the FBI DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW.  They never checked his computer because that could have destroyed their entire premise that Russia was guilty.  I'm not saying Seth was the leaker, I'm saying I don't know, you don't know, and the FBI doesn't know (nor do they want to know based on them not even trying to find out).

Completely dishonest post. The mueller report not only demonstrates that it was the russian government that hacked and leaked (through multiple means including wilileaks) the DNC emails, it also specifically says the theory that Seth Rich was involved is false.

That’s fine. It’s still a double standard when it comes to transparency. And if you actually understood the fine line between a journalist being truthful and the need to sometimes protect the identity of sources you would know that never is it acceptable for a journalist to lie or to imply that the source is an innocent murder victim. Journalists also have the obligation to reveal as much information about the source as possible without revealing their name. These guidelines are intended to protect individuals, not organizations or government. Keeping a source anonymous doesn’t mean you don’t reveal their position or employer. When you see journalists use an anonymous source, they tell you where they work or why their information should be deemed credible, ie “a source within the administration who wishes to remain anonymous due to fear of retaliation.”

I never said he was trying to hide things from mueller. He was lying and obfuscating in public statements.

Correct.

According to the Mueller report, Russian hackers (GRU) hacked the DNC computers then created DCLeaks and Guccifer 2.0 as a way of hiding the source of the leaks, and using DCLeaks/Guccifer 2.0, they contacted Assange at Wikileaks.

The reason why Assange lied about the source is because he didnt want people knowing he was getting help from the Russians.

It isn’t it out of bounds for Assange to not reveal his sources, but he can’t lie and trying to stoke
Conspiracy theories about Seth rich is unethical beyond words. A real journalist who tried protect his sources in that manner would be fired immediately
