Found these in County Down at about 90m above sea level. I found almost nothing the first couple of hours hunting, and by the time I started finding them it was already getting dark (damn these dark evenings!). But I got about 1.5g dried eventually.

Went out today to field I had results before but no magic to be found the grass was quite crunchy it was like a different field. Where do the libs go in the dry I was expecting to see them plain as day as it was sunny but maybe it hasn't rained in a few days it's like the just vanished into thin air :shocked:




This is the field the third picture with the crunchy weeds is this good/bad? I'm so confused two weeks ago was great maybe the horses? Or just weather :confused:

That's just mushroom hunting for you, you can have good days and also bad days. I don't think it's for lack of rain though, because we've had plenty this year. Maybe if it's a well known spot, someone might have got there before you. I hate to put a dampener on things, but from my perspective the season peaked a long time ago, and maybe it's drawing to a close early. I found my biggest hauls in August, but they've been getting smaller and smaller ever since. But there's definitely still some out there if you're persistent and lucky enough to hit the right spots. I would be looking in low altitude places at this stage of the season.

Came across a forest full of Amanitas yesterday morning while out hiking in South Dublin. Must have been at least 100 of them within about 5 mins walk of each other.

Was hoping for a positive id on these, never hunted cyans before, but came across these in some woodchip at a wildife sanctuary.. am i onto something ?? thanks.

Could you make a separate ID thread for these? Your photo is focused on the ground rather than the mushrooms, you need to lay them on a flat surface so that they'll be in focus. Take shots of the cap, stem and gills and take a spore print.

I'm just looking at the mushrooms you have in your bucket, which are a bit more in focus. Some of the stems look flushed reddish orange, so I think they might just be Leratiomyces ceres, but take them out of the bucket so we can have a closer look.

sorry, these are the best i could do, found them out with the family surrounded by other familys.. some of the other mushrooms had plenty of bruisin on stems and bruised when broken..

That first one is Psilocybe cyanescens! :congrats: I can't vouch for the rest of them because I would have liked to have seen them out of the bucket. The stems look to have an orange flush, but it might just be due to the fact that they're in an orange bucket. The spore print doesn't really help in this case because Leratiomyces ceres has a similar coloured spore print. Check that they all bruise blue.
