Trump is screwing up by playing favorites with the states. Some of those Democratic Governors are running swing states and have much higher favorability on dealing with this crisis than he does.

My state (MA) has a Republican governor, but he wasn't nice to Trump on a conference call that got televised so we're getting fucked, hard. The governor recruited the owner of our local NFL team to send the team jet to China to bring back millions of masks, and had our state national guard and state troopers escort the shipment to local hospitals (and NY and RI) to avoid the feds trying to seize them again. Would have been interesting to see what happened if the feds tried, that's the type of shit that could start a civil war... those troopers/guardsmen were not going to hand them over.

I think Trump's core simply cannot be swayed, regardless, and there's a whole lot of people in that core. No matter how much he fucks them, they'll place blame somewhere else.

I'm wrong a lot though, hopefully this will be one of those times.

He banned Europe travel on March 12 when Italy already had over 12,000 cases. The situation in Europe was obviously going down hill weeks earlier. He banned travel from China when there were 500 cases. Italy had 500 cases the last week of February. There were multiple reports of people returning from Italy causing outbreaks in New York State. He did nothing.

By the way, these bans were mostly feckless. Air travel from an to China had already stopped days before he announced his travel ban and he still allowed Americans to enter the US who had been in China. They were supposed to self quarantine but there was zero enforcement.

My mother got off a plane from South Korea via Japan on fucking March 3rd and there was zero screening. South Korea had 3000 cases that day.

The federal government totally dropped the ball.

You originally claimed that he didn't ban travel for more than one country, and then went on to say that he actually banned travel on March 12th... The WHO declared coronavirus a pandemic on mar 11  and on mar 12th trump banned travel from over 20 European countries.
Yea sure it could of come sooner, but claiming that he didn't ban travel is an outright lie. Like i said earlier, he, like virtually every other leader sat back and listened to the who... did you really expect him to go against who recommendations? Where's your outrage for the who misleading the entire world?
