This was a pin from a left plate, looks like tomentose and rhizo but the fingers look like they are running.

Three different types of growth here.  Rhiz, Tom and maybe a cobweb mold

This one confuses me as both sets of growth look clean.

Again another runner

I have lots of super clean plates but in the pursuit of knowledge what causes the 2 tone growth on plates?

Also where would you transfer from here?  Would you take a tiny finger in some cases?

Always Be Transferring. Even if you're totally happy with the plate; especially if you're totally happy with the plate.

That being said, if mold is showing color, it's making spores, which means it's too late, the whole plate is dirty.

Ed I’ve had a few plates with clean rhizo and tomentose, it looks crazy but I guess it’s just sectoring.

Zen I’d prob do 630-8 on plate 2 also.

Cheers I'll do about 5 transfers from that region and see where it goes. As for number 1 I'm going to watch it just for shits n giggles looks like it's gonna eat it.

IME cobweb is so fast , you can really pinpoint it because of it's speed ; it'll overrun the plate in 2 days , never seen it slow down for anything ha

the two types of grow in one plate is my everyday ha , i keep blaming the cultures cause some of them look real nice on the same batch of agar , so i just keep transfering from the good looking sectors

let us know what you will do with those long mycelium threads !

Freshly germinated mycellium rarely knows what it is doing and doesnt really run after food the way 2nd or 3rd transfer do.

Only pesa for some reason. Idk if it’s genetics or the agar but it’s only happening sometimes.

I think it’s clean but only one way to find out for sure.

Thank you so much for your support. This was months in the making of learning, trial, and error, learning and doing everything for myself. Now I'm just worried if there is going to be an bacteria or contams to ruin this...

Took some transfers from this one a few days ago.
Thinking about throwing it on some grain before it reaches the edge.

What do you guys think?
